Literally a stones throw from the train station, Hotel Mediterraneo clean and modern. Staff are friendly and efficient and the breakfast is good. The only draw back is that it is a little walk to the beach but Cefalú is not a big place so enjoy the stroll.

Everything but the parking lot was easy to get The streets are so narrow that it was very difficult to navigate with the car. Nice breakfast. Helpful bilingual host made the stay pleasant.

Sorry, but other than friendly desk staff in morning and afternoon, the only good point was it was close to the train station. Bed uncomfortable. Pillow awful and no extra or blanket in closet. Breakfast weak also.

A clean and comfortable hotel
The hotel is ideally situated if you’re travelling by train as it is more or less opposite the railway station. It is a modern hotel. There is a lift. The room we had was large with a balcony overlooking a yard. The bedroom has all you need: king size with a firm mattress, a wardrobe, a fridge, a desk, a tv and a chair. The bathroom has nice blue tiles, shower, wc, bidet, sink, mirror and hair dryer. All was fine until I went to the bathroom in the morning as there was an unpleasant smell emanating from the plugholes. I told the receptionist when I left the hotel and he said he would look into the problem. From the hotel, it’s a 5 minutes to the sea and about 15 minutes to the town centre. The staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is fine with a choice of food. The room and bathroom are clean.

The hotel itself was nothing special and had a little problem with cats. Our host was awesome. He was helpful and very witty. For breakfast he shared food from his own table and offered us more. He made us laugh often.

Our stay was absolutely incredible! This hotel was close to the train station and close to old town Cefalu. Staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast was great! The only complaint I have was having to leave :) I would definitely stay again!

Never got to stay there.
Arrived in good time in mid afternoon to check in. The receptionist looked flustered and eventually admitted there was no room available. I reminded him that we had already paid and booked months earlier. He then phoned someone on a mobile phone and passed the phone over to me. I was then speaking to someone who spoke good English who said that he could provide a room with a balcony on the centre of Cefalu. With no other option I agreed. We had parked our car at the nearby train station and we were met there and we and our luggage were transported to the Saracen rooms in the heart of the town. The room provided was basic but very convenient to restaurants, beaches, sights etc. I had no more to pay. It appears deal was done between the 2 establishments. The whole matter ended up well as the Mediterranee is not close to the centre of town and is somewhat isolated. I am however annoyed to find that Expedia should be involved in an overbooking and trust that Expedia will ensure that this is noted and acted upon.

Clean hotel in Cefalu but requires renovation
We were driving in Sicily in our way to Palermo and planned a night in Cefalu. Mediterraneo is next to the train station and with a few steps you are in the center. It's an old hotel that deserves some renovations and the room was small and a bit dark. But it was clean and we were very well attended.

Excellent choice if travelling by train.
It was only 2 minutes from the station, 5 from the beach and about 8 from the town. Very helpful staff and very comfortable.

Handy for the station
Stayed in a quad room on the ground floor with a balcony but not a particularly great view. Building work going on in the hotel was noisy when we arrived but did not disturb our stay. Friendly and helpful staff with a reasonable continental breakfast. Only a minute walk to the train station so very handy if just passing through Cefalu as we were. Ok but not great value.

Perfectly adequate for a couple of nights
Booked at the last minute, this was a decent if unspectacular hotel within easy walking distance of the old town. Cheap and unpretentious, the room was clean and bright though the bathroom was small and the bed was hard. Sound also travelled between rooms. But, the staff were helpful and for the price it was reasonable value.

We were met by an extremely unwelcoming front desk clerk, with no ability to communicate even the fundamentals required to register.We don't expect to be greeted by a fluently bilingual person, but not a word of English was spoken. We were taken to our room which had an unpleasant odour. We were so put off that we abandoned this hotel which we had prepaid for three nights, and stayed elsewhere

Handy base for a short visit to Cefalu
A ten-minute walk from the sea and the old town, we found this hotel ideal for our one-night stay in Cefalu. Word of warning: the hotel does have parking but not by the main entrance. We left our car on the street (just before the railway station) and the receptionist came with me to guide me to their parking area. (It's right next to the hotel and served by a lift, so still convenient.)

Professional and friendly staff. Convenient free parking available. A short walk to the old city (10 min). We had some issues with the toilet cistern which bellowed and howled after each use, and a semi-clogged shower drain. Recommended.

The hotel was located right next to the train station and a 10 minute walk to the beach. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The only complaint I have is with the beds. To say the mattress was firm was an understatement. Everything else about the hotel was perfect.

Excellent breakfast, excellent location. Outstanding personnel during day hours. To access the hotel from parking you needed to use intercom. The bell did not work we found out after several minutes waiting. This one hotel manager did not apologize or offer any good solution for this issue. He just stated "the bell does not work" (??????)Other than that, very good hotel

Unexpected delightful surprise
No great expectations as cheaper than some other places we'd stayed. Very pleased with convenience to train station, and proximity to old town. Welcoming and helpful manner of staff. Impressed by efforts made for breakfast, including yummy homemade cake.

Hotel in convenient location, short walk from town centre. Staff friendly and helpful, even hung up the clothes dumped by my teenage daughter. Hotel perfectly clean and breakfast typical of Sicily. Happy to stay there again.

A Short But Enjoyable Getaway
We were only able to spend 24 hours in Cefalu but the time we spent was well worth it. The hotel was wonderful from the Check-In process to the time we left the following day. Only 5 minutes walk to the beach or 5 minutes walk to City Center. The breakfast buffet was good by European standards. Only downside is the bed was super hard, but that's to be expected in Europe, so we weren't surprised. When we return to Cefalu we will definitely stay at this hotel.

Posizione eccellente fronte mare. Accesso diretto sulla spiaggia. Ottimo hotel per un tranquillo soggiorno al mare. Splendida terrazza su mare dove fare colazione e cenare o semplicemente rilassarsi. Personale accogliente. Colazione a buffet ottima e varia. Hotel eccellente per chi come noi soggiornava con il cagnolino. I cagnolini non sono solo ammessi, ma coccolati. Ristoratore eccellente. Ci torneremo presto
