“The Vagabond Hotel in San Diego is much better.”

We regularly stay at the Vagabond Hotel in San Diego so this was a bit of a disappointment. The Continental breakfast consisted of very watered down juice, green bananas and a stand full of plastic-wrapped vending machine-type sweet rolls. We were used to waffle irons, a variety of cereals, baked goods and staff that went out of their way to be helpful. Although the Costa Mesa staff was polite, they were indifferent and involved with personal activities in front of guests. Overall, the room was very clean and comfortable. I would return if need be.

“Ok place for a cheap room”

I was only there for one night and was just looking for some place cheap. This is a cheap hotel but has good service. The rooms are dated but that is to be expected. Girl up front was very nice and helpful.

“good times-almost”

We went to this hotel for the beautiful pool and jacuzzi. It's to bad though because the pool was very dirty and the jacuzzi was closed. The maintenance man said it would be fixed in three hours but it never was. How can I relax after a hard day at work and the jacuzzi is closed. My daughter had to swim in a dirty pool all by heself- it was so dirty no one else went in it.To bad I promised her a pool. can't they fix these things when the pool and jacuzzi are closed? Before 9am or after 9pm-get it together people.

“OK For The Room Rate”

This hotel is ok for a short stay. I prefer a 4 to 5 star hotel but decided to try a cheap inn/motel since I planned on being at the beach all day. The room was cheap yet very clean. The location is right off the 405 and about 5 minutes from Newport Beach/Balboa Pier. If you are looking for a good economy inn/motel for a cheap getaway....you'll be satisfied with this Vegabond. Remember you get what you pay... so no fancy furniture or wet bars will be in the room... just the basics.

“Good enough for this price”

This hotel is not the best hotel in the region but it is economic place to stay. The worst service is WIFI, others are OK.

“Great value, lovely people”

This was my second stay at Vagabond, and I found I was pleased to be back. The staff was again very friendly and helpful. While this is an older property in need of some paint and new carpeting, the overall feeling of the place is one that is cared for with pride. Flowers are in bloom all over, roses and gardenias; the sheets are bright white and crisp; the bathrooms clean. Comparably priced national chains do not have the feeling of care that I find here. If life calls me to Costa Mesa again, I'll be staying here.

“Not A Bad Place To Stay”

Decent Motel on a Budget. Right off the 405, near the Airport. Various places to eat within walking distance along with a 7-11 across the street.

Hotel had plenty of parking, good service. Not different from motels, what I expected for the price I paid. Great location-by 405 and Newport Beach
