Service and staff unequaled

Posted 24-Nov-2014
Pros: The staff, of course. The view of palm trees and the sea from our balcony. Our nightcap in the wood paneled bar each evening.
Cons: Anything that could have been improved was done long ago.
Location: Massena Museum is next door. 5 minute drive from old Nice. 30 minutes from lovely hill towns. Pedestrian promenade and sea across the street.
This beautiful, iconic hotel across the promenade from the Mediterranean does not disappoint. It's ornate beauty, extensive art collection, grand salons, Michelin rated restaurant are but side trappings compared to the lovely, well-trained staff that made our visit a joy. Thank you to them! We are not high-maintenance travelers, but when we did need help or advice, it was eagerly forth-coming.

ニースの看板ホテル

Posted 24-Nov-2014
Pros:

Beautiful, traditional hotel with a great ambiance

Posted 20-Nov-2014
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
Location: Sea, Mountains, Hippodrome du Trot and all the shops you need.
A tremendous experience, the staff are diligent and nothing is too much trouble. The bar and restaurants serve excellent food and refreshments and the whole place is just a bastion of tradition. Surrounded by the sea and hill Le Negresco stands proud and is as magnificent inside as it looks from the outside.

Not an everyday hotel

Posted 8-Nov-2014
Pros: The room, and the location. Right opposite the beach.
Cons: The restaurant was a bit disappointing for the price.
Location: The beach!
Saw this hotel on Michael Portillo's railway programme, and just had to stay here. High end, but not a disappointment. Lovely room and with beautiful bathroom, and very comfortable bed. Food and drinks etc expensive of course, but a special treat. Especially loved the communal areas like the large atrium. Concierge recommended a great restaurant in town.

The Negresco Hotel

Posted 31-Oct-2014
Pros: We loved the location, art collection and service. Our room overlooking the Mediterranean was beautiful, spacious and newly decorated.
Location: The hotel is located in the heart of the city right on the sea. Perfect location for everything in town.
We had stayed here 30 years ago and were dreading that it would be shabby and tired. We were happily surprised by its vibrancy. The interior has blended the elegance of an earlier age with modern art. The hotel is fresh, clean and has a nice energy. The best of the old mixed with the best of the modern.

Historic Hotel surroundings

Posted 20-Oct-2014
We stayed for two nights and the hotel staff were mostly fantastic, very friendly and professional. The only real let down was the breakfast service which was strained and slow, however the breakfast itself was great quality. Another annoyance was the refusal of the hotel to supply an iron to my room, leaving me to pay £30 to have two shirts ironed. That said I would definitely return to this beautiful hotel.

Fabulous building

A great building at a superb location, with much tradition but disappointing use of the facilities and mediocre management.

Hotel Negresco Oct 8 - Oct 11, 2014

Posted 18-Oct-2014
An historic hotel in a beautiful setting. Large and comfortable rooms overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Service was exceptional. Lobby floor lounge was grand yet cozy. The property does have some quirks and travelers comfortable only with the most modern of amenities may be happier elsewhere. Michelin two star rated restaurant which was exceptional.

Quirky but Great

Posted 14-Oct-2014
Pros: Everything
Cons: Indoor swimming pool, as I am not a great lover of beaches, particularly pebbly beaches
Location: It was our first visit to Nice, for a long weekend so only had two full days there, so just strolled around the market in the Old City.
The Belle Epoque style of this hotel gives it a certain quirkiness, however, in a nice way and of course it has a history of celebrity guests. The hotel came up to expectations, the room was excellent, the staff attentive, the amenities first class. We enjoyed every moment there and will definitely go back. The two michelin starred Chantecler restaurant was outstanding and ranked with any other restaurant of this class that we have dined at which is quite a lot. We had the Discovery Menu and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys the experience of fine dining at this level.

A wonderful experience made better by the attentive staff, opulent facilities and excellent restaurant.
