not too far from Newport

Posted 15-Oct-2014
Cons: elevator
Location: Newport mansion cliff walk!
The staff was friendly, the room was clean. There is no elevator, though. We arrived late and it was difficult lugging bags when tired.

Priced right if staying to see Newport.

HO JO had everything I was looking for. Nice room, pool, friendly staff and priced right. The only problem was the hot tub was too hot and it was a bit dirty. the Applebees has a great deal on Monday night. good food not crowded. Very accomodating staff.

Few days in Newport to tour some of the mansions

Posted 2-Oct-2014
Pros: Location was great close to town and plenty of restrauants.
Cons: More towels in the rooms
Location: Mansions very close so was town, we enjoyed the location
Overall great hotel was clean and the employees were honest hard working people. We enjoyed our three nights there, we even left behind our bathing suits and when I called about an hour after we left they said they would mail it to me. That was such a relief.

Clean, quiet and close to Newport

Posted 1-Oct-2014
Pros: Our room was spotless, the bathroom was shining. Other hotels that we stayed at this summer, were often dirty.
Cons: Maybe a little more variety for breakfast so you wouldn't have to go out for food.
My daughter & I stayed for only one night. We have stayed in many hotels for short visits this summer, but this was by far the cleanest, the quietest and the most convenient. The staff was helpful in giving us directions to the highlights of Newport. I was sorry that we were only staying for one night, but I would definitely stay here again with my grandchildren and use the indoor pool. The room was huge, with two queen size beds and room for a cot or a blow-up mattress.

Reception staff very helpful

Posted 1-Oct-2014
We was greeted by Amy on reception, who was very helpful and marked on a local map of nice places to visit and eat. The room was very clean and spacious. It was nice that we could get a coffee at anytime of the day and during the morning they supplied fruit and muffins. Appleby's was great to have next door for a meal if you didn't want to go in to Newport. We would stay at this Inn again.

Convenient for going into newport

Posted 30-Sep-2014
Pros: The staff were very helpful and the shuttle to downtown newport was very good and reliable
Cons: Breakfast was very basic, but for the price we couldn't complain.
Location: The Newport mansions were only about 3 miles away by car and the waterfront are was very accessible with the shuttle.
We had a large two bedded room which was very clean. The pool area was nice, but the jacuzzi was too hot for us. The laundry was useful for travellers. The -plebe next door was good after being out all dy.

Wonderful and affordable way to visit Newport

Posted 22-Sep-2014
A little away from the action, but definitely one of the most well run and clean hotels I have ever visited. It more than makes up for it's modest appearance with an expert staff and overachieving rooms. A hidden gem.
