Very reasonable rates and convenient locatonPosted 22-Aug-2014
Pros: The rates
Cons: We had to pay 15.99 to rent a movie...ridicuous!!! The carpet, wall paper, etc was old and depressing.
Location: Location was convenient to Newport and environs.
The staff were wonderful but the hotel was old and dingy.

Howard Johnson was fine, only fine the rooms were comfortable but the condition of the roon was mediocare, there were allot of noise from other rooms and corridor, also we had a room near us with a barking dog, which we didn't knew that the hotel excepts pets. Overall, medium hotel, I was disappointed since the previous reviews were showing as 4.1 out of 5, compared to the hotel rates the room was OK, but I prefer to pay a bit more next time and get a much nicer hotel. Staff was very kind and the room was clean. Enjoy

Good, but not great.Posted 17-Aug-2014
The room was clean, standard size for a double, but a little musty and some of the bathroom fixtures were rusty. The shower was not working very well. The staff were very nice but also very busy multitasking, so at times it took a while to get their attention.

Visiting friendsPosted 13-Aug-2014
Cons: Would be nice to have night stands on both sides of the bed. Without one, there is no place to put a glass of water, jewelry, medicine, etc.
The room was clean. The mattress very comfortable. Five pillows .... all big and fluffy. Bathroom very clean and up-to-date. Air conditioning worked great. Balcony was a plus even though it looks over the parking lot. Nice to sit outside and read or people watch....... ;-)

Good for the price and close to NewportPosted 11-Aug-2014
It was nice that the hotel was only about a 10 min drive to the wharves. The shuttle was more expensive than we were hoping--$3 each way per person. To-Go breakfast wasn't great--packaged muffins and fruit, but was good to grab quickly for a small bite. Room was clean and served its purpose.

Ok stayPosted 2-Aug-2014
The room was clean but the tub was dirty and the water would clog. The desk chair was grossly stained. Otherwise parking was easy. The office staff were super friendly. However every morning we were awaken by the cleaning ladies were loud in the hallway. Not considerate of sleeping guests. They were responsive to the tub complaint however they didn't fix the issue.
