“1924”, the new restaurant of the Lagos Mare Hotel, has the honor and the privilege to host as a head consultant chef the renowned Greek Chef, Dimitris Skarmoutsos ( “Alatsi” restaurant ), winner of many Gourmet awards. After a l successful cooperation with the famous Chef Thomas Keller, he returns to Greece and the last 10 years utilizes and designates the wealth and the roots of Greek cuisine.
His successful course is consummated with his participation as a judge to the new Mega Channel reality t.v. show, “Master Chef”.
1924 was the year that Skipper Giannis Lagos, arrives in Naxos, coming from Aivali along his family. His acquaintance with the wealth of the Naxian land, combined with his love for the sea were the elements that were devotedly passed down to the next generations until today.
This year, the restaurant “1924” of the Lagos Mare Hotel, is set to designate the greatness of the Naxian land with creations that will touch even the most intense and refined gastronomic desires. Original Naxian cuisine in all the stages – picking up fresh local raw materials to the final enjoyment of a delicious meal, right next to the beautiful atmospheric swimming pool of the hotel. The pick up of raw materials is performed with characteristic care, meeting with dozens of local producers in their fields, in olive presses, in dairies, in distilleries and any other place the diverse nature of Naxos gives birth to its pure and fresh products.
