“Romantic Hilltop Getaway”
My husband reserved this as a special romantic getaway. Other than getting lost on the way to the hotel, it was the most wonderful weekend. The staff were beyond friendly, giving us directions and even recommending places. We stayed n the 2nd floor and had awesome views although next time I would like to stay on the 6th or 7th floor. The rooms are smaller but the history is immense. Some rooms even have original frescos. WIll be going back for sure!!!!
“perfect!”
The views of the hotel were breathtaking! we went for our honeymoon and they gave us a room with the city view on one side and the bay of naples the other side! it was perfect!
“vue et terasse exceptionnelle”
hotel avec une vue sur la baie, Naples, le Vésuve et Capri. ns avions une chbre immense avec terrasse, salle de bain superbe ! L'hotel est situé sur une colline de Naples, tres calme, a 10 min du centre a pieds ou en funiculaire, piscine sur la terrasse magique
“Quiet Luxury Just Minutes From Downtown”
We chose this hotel based on other traveler reviews, and it was even better than we had hoped. Naples is everything we'd heard: noisy, frenetic, and lots of fun, but by the end of each day we were so happy to retreat to such a lovely hotel - much nicer than the supposed luxury accommodations near the water. Rooms and service were top of the line, especially considering the reasonable rates. Everything was luxurious - the panoramic view of the bay from our window, the enormous breakfast hot and cold buffet, the immaculate rooftop gardens; we felt like we were in a movie the entire time. The late-evening trip on the night we arrived by train made us nervous, especially the short walk from the Montesanto train station to the funiculare; Recommend arriving during daylight hours if possible.
“Amazing”
Beutiful original hotel on a hillside outside the city centre. Amazing views and fantastic roof garden with swimming pool. Very comfortable rooms and free minibar! 15 minute walk into the city centre - steep hill to walk back again but easily manageble as long as relatively fit. Restaurant slightly expensive for average food.
“Amazing Hotel”
A wonderful hotel. Somewhat out of the city center, but worth it. Good food, service and enjoyed my stay very much
“Great Hotel”
Hotel was exactly as pictured. Unusual type of hotel. I would recommend this hotel.
“fascinating atmospheric hotel,highly recommended.”
Incredible views, easy reach of historic centre of Naples,on foot or by local transport. The staff were charming and helpful. The food in the restaurant was expensive, but of a very high standard and delicious.and the breakfast was much better than the usual continental breakfast. The building was interesting, clientele multinational, and I would love to go back.
“Large Standard Room with great en suite & fantastic pool on roof.”
We stayed 2 nights in late June 09 on a Weds & Thurs. Pleasantly surprised by size of room with bed at end on raised area. Excellent views. We got the impression that things had been left to slide since the initial refurb and opening in 2002, little repair jobs not done, missing or crooked trim around the tv and doors, minor leaks in the bathroom for instance. Nothing too annoying. Free Minibar made up for it. Whatever you do avoid the 4th floor restaurant. Not sure if it officially run by the hotel. The worst meal we had in 9 days in Italy. Bad food and average service, trading on the great views too much. After eating in a Michelin star place the night before the contrast could not have been greater. The wine was excellent though, god it needed to be! The best thing for me was the rooftop pool and gardens, with cave grotto if you want to avoid the sun. But only open until 5pm strangely, comfy loungers soft towels and when we were there few other guests. Handy to public transport and to many attractions. The taxis were fairly priced too.
“Monastic life”
This is the most wonderful converted 16th century monastry which has been beautifully but simply restored. There are many passage ways and hidden chambers to explore, and every window in the hotel has a stunning view over the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. The pool on the roof is idyllic, and the grapes on the vine are yours for the picking. I highly recommend a visit.
