We were extremely happy with our stay and will definitely come again whenever we return to Montreal. To have a spacious, nicely remodeled and equipped 2 bedroom apartment right on the waterfront in the middle of the old city is amazing.

There were no coffee pods and we weren’t informed of this. The pillows are hard and horrible. The cleaning staff weren’t finished cleaning when we arrived, although we arrived 30 minutes after the earliest check in time. The corners in the washroom were quite dusty.

Overall a great experience. Parking is not available and so be prepared to shell out CAN $35 per day in nearby public parking. There’s no front desk or service staff on premises but you can text them if needed.

The Place Royal is a 4 story building located in the western border of old montreal facing the Port and a block off of the beautiful Rue St. Paul. It lacks a lobby and consists of spacious and clean apartments. The communication with "staff" is entirely through text who were very responsive. There was an issue with the front door, which is accessible by keycode, working properly and we had to rely on other guests letting us in for a brief period. It was a bit noisy with the nearby trains and club, but nothing that kept us awake at night. An amazing price for the location and the square footage.

The location was really perfect. Located minutes walk from cafes, restaurants, shops, bars of all kinds. Only blocks from Notre Dame Basillica. The apartment was very pretty, unique, well decorated. The historic rafters and exposed brick were beautiful. We had a couple of issues on entry to the unit that were addressed on-site within 15mins, despite there being no on-site staff. Housekeeping followed up without us needing to ask. The service was absolutely excellent. Some reviews talked about noise, we were directly above the “noisy” bar. It was not that bad, we did not use any of the provided ear plugs. Additionally, the bed was certainly firm, but not a stone. We slept just fine. We would absolutely stay again, especially now knowing the type of customer service they provide. Clearly pride is taken in this establishment.

Very nice apart/hotel. Wonderfully decorated. Well stocked kitchen. Comfy furniture and beds. My only con was the noise from the street at night. There seemed to be a lot of delivery trucks I believe a garbage truck that came to building at around 6:00 am. There were ear plugs provided with the toiletries. Thought it was strange, quickly realized why.

My friend booked this property for our night away to Montreal. We struggled to find the keypad. The keypad was frozen in locked mode on account of the -10 degrees C. We called the number twice and the guy finally sent a picture, after that we had no problem. Parking is at the Quai, across the street. Easy walk, but would have been nice to have that info on the website when booking. The property had unopened food in the fridge. One of the dining room chairs was junked and there was a rip on the couch. The towel bar was loose. I made sure to take pictures and send them to the owner so I didn’t get charged for damages I didn’t do. The inside was beautifully updated and comfortable, warm too. The shower drained slowly, so don’t worry, just be aware. We look forward to our next trip, now that we know how to get into the bldg.

Great Stay!
The room and property are stunning and very clean. Perfect location for exploring Montreal. We did not have any issues with noise either being on the 3rd floor. One thing to note is there is an odd sewer smell, perhaps due to being an older building. There is no parking, but a few garage suggestions are provided and there is 1hr street parking right outside the building. Other than this, the suite, location and services were perfect. We would definitely stay again and recommend to friends and family.

Beautiful apartment, very spacious and clean. We had a wonderful stay! I would recommend this apartment for those who do not have a car. If you need parking it’s about $30 per 24 hours at the Indigo Parking Lots that are all a bit of a walk away. These lots let you leave and come back, unlike the parking at the Quay. Overall it’s a wonderful apartment and we were so happy with our stay. Very prompt answers from the staff of we needed anything extra. Thank you!

A really beautiful place, but not supplied well, and the customer service is absolutely abysmal. They don’t respond to you over text, email, or phone, even if you reach them and they promise to fix something, it still didn’t happen, and there is no one on site, so it is not really a hotel in the typical sense that you have support of any kind , but it does have beautiful rooms at a great location.

We absolutely loved our stay. 100/10 beyond perfection .This location was within 10 min walking distance to lots of museums, art galleries, shopping, restaurants and many other attractions. The price was very fair for all the space and amenities included.. I appreciated the staff was very kind to us. I really liked how safe and comfortable and our family we felt. They send you the password you need to enter the building and your room in a email so make sure to check.

Great value. Spacious, warm and inviting, all the amenities. Looks just like the pictures, zero complaints. Would definitely stay here again. The location was perfect for visiting Old Montreal. Restaurants and shops were within just a few minutes walk.

This condo was perfect for exploring old Montreal. Given the type of building being so old, the noise does carry quite a lot. Not ideal for light sleeper.

The unit we rented was pure bliss for our family. Daniel was great , he actually loved our room to a higher floor — after we booked it for 5 days. Based on location, local culture , and high end appliances, we will be back this summer. 🙏

One of the climate controllers was not working. I sent a message to the owner and he sent me a manual to fix it the next day. I stayed for two nights and was wondering why I should spend one night fixing it myself. And the area, restaurant trash cans were gathered behind the hotel, the garbage truck came at 7 a.m. both days. Even while on vacation, I had no choice but to wake up early every morning.
