A little piece of Heaven!
My partner and I spent two wonderful nights here and wish we could’ve stayed longer! The cabin was cozy, very well appointed, there was firewood ready for a rainy night of staying indoors. The bed was comfy and the sheets were ultra soft. The entire cabin was spotless and the hot tub was a nice way to start and end the day…even in the rain! If you want an excellent getaway this is the place. Pack your swimsuit, some cozy clothes, some food and the rest is taken care of!

I enjoyed the hot tub during my chilly stay. The barbecue was great too. Not so sure about the yard art. (I’m really not into old rusting car carcasses.) otherwise the stay was good.

A hidden gem in the woods.
A tidy, bright large cabin and yard allowing/patio allowing dining in or out. Fire pit, bbq and hot tub available. All this in a private quiet area to relax and inviting outdoor options near by. We highly recommend this location.

Amazing Time!!!
Cute cozy, yet not small place. Very clean and quiet. We had a great time exploring Victoria and the surrounding areas and really enjoyed being able to then escape back to our little oasis in Metchosin.

So Peaceful!
Loved the privacy and cleanliness of the guesthouse! There were lots of nice touches and everything was very comfortable. We loved the hot tub and the wood stove, especially to warm up on chilly nights! It was nicely located, lots to do nearby in terms of nature and a cute little restaurant! The only improvement I would say is it would be nice to have a few more towels provided! Other than that we loved it and would for sure come again!

Beautiful spot with great privacy
If there is a complaint about this place, it's that she made it hard to have a complaint. It is a beautiful spot with wonderful privacy. The neighbors are far enough away that they stay out of site. The outside area is set up for a campfire and a hot tub. The location is far enough for a beautiful area and close enough to the area you don't have to drive far to get to anything. We happened to go during the coldest time, so we didnt get to enjoy the fire or hot tub outside. At 15 degrees F, we are wimps. The cabin is a quaint 1 bedroom home with a full kitchen. Great if you want to cook, in which my wife loves cooking. The living room is large and cozy with plenty of space. Overall, the cabin is cute and cozy. I do have to warn that the floor is hardwood and really cold in the winter. Bring warm socks. The heat takes time to warm the house, but does great in keeping it warm. She does have 2 tv's, one in the bedroom and one in the living room. Easy set up and easy to use. Only complaint is that the tv's are small. But if thats all there is, we could live with that. The cabin was very clean when we arived. No pet hair, no dust, dishes and bedsheets definitely clean. Bathroom was also very clean. One of the best things about this rental was the communication. Our host was very accomodating and answered any inquiry very quickly. There were never any problems if we had questions. She also gave us a couple places to visit that we took advantage of. I definitely will return.

Such a Gem!
My partner and I have been looking for a cabin in the woods for ages and this was the perfect one. Far enough away from things that we had all the privacy we wanted, yet close enough that driving to grab a latte and snacks was a breeze. We both can't wait to come back!

Cosy, cute & comfy hideaway near beautiful Matheson Lake & galloping goose trail
We loved this cosy and very well looked after cabin hidden away in a forest next to a lake. The cabin had all the comforts we wanted and the peace & quiet we hoped for. Even a fan for the hot summer evenings! We can’t wait to come back.

The perfect relaxing break!
We wanted a last minute getaway for the Canada long weekend and we could not have been more thrilled. This place was so perfectly set up to relax and had a well stocked kitchen. The hot tub was amazing and it was beautiful to relax there. We will definitely be back and could not recommend this place more!

Perfect Place for a Getaway!
House is beautiful, wonderfully decorated, super cozy , and had everything one could need! The hosts even had a fire going when we arrived, such a nice touch. It is a perfect place to get away and relax! It’s far enough away from the city, but still close enough to take a trip in to sightsee or just go wander! Great Metchosin vacation spot
Located close to a number of great regional parks, and very close to the Galloping Goose trail, so bring your bicycles. Loved the old vehicles which hosts Amanda and Dave call "yard art". Made good use of the hot tub and both the indoor fireplace and the outdoor fireplace. This location is also great if one wants to zip into Victoria for a day (e.g., visit Munro's Books) or visit Hartley Castle (for the X-Men fans). We plan to stay there again!

Quaint, private, comfy and clean!
Let me say that the description of the property is precise. They missed the word cute though! Delightfully located, clean, well appointed and charming. Reported any concerns directly and had immediate attention.. Privacy is respected and appreciated. Absolutely would return and family are already asking about it. Note of point the bed is firm, the linens are crisp and the solitude is wonderful.

Little retreat

Fantastic Getaway!
We loved everything about our stay at the guest house. It’s private, cozy and full stocked with all the things you need to make your stay wonderful. We were within walking distance of a fabulous lake, the hot tub was a little old but still did the trick. The living space was actually really comfortable and you could tell the property owners take a lot of pride in their space. We will definitely be back!

Had such a lovely time at the cabin. They have everything you need for a cozy staycation. Hot tub, wood burning fireplace, comfy couch, and king bed! Everything was clean. It was a little cold when we arrived, but the cabin heats up quickly. Highly recommend!

We had such a relaxing weekend, the cabins location is in a quiet area. The cabin was very cozy. It was very nice to be able to enjoy an outdoor fire and soak in the hot tub. Would recommend this location!

Our family of 4 (including 2 teens) and our 2 corgis thoroughly enjoyed our short stay here. The property was clean, cozy and quiet. The dogs enjoyed running around and exploring the area around the rental. We really enjoyed both the hot tub and fire pit! Would recommend to anyone looking for a somewhat more secluded, peaceful getaway.

We loved this rental for our family of four. Everything from the outdoor shower, hot tub, and the bunnies that visited every day!! Be prepared to bring some pantry items as there wasn’t any Syran wrap, cooking oil, or coffee. Also if you want to have a fire in the fire pit you may need to fill propane tank as host won’t provide if it’s empty. Location was awesome to explore the Island and all the amazing beaches!! We really enjoyed our stay! Thank you!!!!

This guest house is absolutely wonderful!

Relaxing little getaway
My partner and I took our daughters, 10 and 12, and our 12 years old’s friend, for a weekend getaway at Amanda’s vacation home. We are from Victoria so it was nice and close, yet far enough to feel like a vacation. Amanda was a pleasure to communicate with. The check in process was easy and smooth. The house is adorable and had plenty of room for us all. We enjoyed the hot tub and roasting marshmallows over the fire in the patio area. Overall it was a lovely weekend getaway and we will definitely be back!

Amanda has the most amazing "cabin in the woods". The cabin was a wonderful place to spend our 9 nights while we were on the island. It was clean, with a well equipped kitchen. The king sized bed was so comfortable. Having the fire place to fire up in the evening made it feel so cozy. And that hot tub was such a welcome treat at the end of the day. It feels like you're isolated but in reality you're only 8 min away from the nearest small town with the an amazing restaurant and small grocery store. We were extremely pleased with everything! I'd recommend this property to everyone.

FABULOUS
The property was absolutely perfect for our stay. Very secluded and peaceful but close enough to for whatever we wanted to do. Walking around the lake Matheson or East Sooke Park, going to My Chosen Café for lunch or Pizza and shopping in Langford or Victoria. The house was very comfortable and warm and the fireplace was great. We made good use of the BBQ and Hot Tub. The Hosts were very friendly and helpful. All in all, a great week and we will be back. Fantastic cabin that has everything
We really liked this place, and the host was very kind and easy to reach. The place looked fantastic and had everything: hot tub, fire pit, indoor wood stove, barbeque, and all the kitchen sruff we needed. The place also was very clean and had nice details, both inside and outside. The area also is very nice. It is close to Matheson Lake and trails for hike.
