“We loved this Place”
The El Cid Marina is just small enough that you get to know the wonderful staff. We had a room with small kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom with his and hers separate sink areas and a very large balcony. The room was cleaned to perfection every day and we left phones, cameras, and whatever out and nothing was touched except the tip we left for the maid every day. We could see the little marina and the ocean from our balcony and it was so relaxing. I think that the staff at this hotel helped to make our trip really fun. Jesus at the bar who can make a Mexican coffee, with flames and all, is a show in itself. He was very nice and helped us with our Spanish. The guys who serve drinks and food down at the pool areas.....same thing... Angel, Rene...great guys with a good sense of humor. The restaurant did not have a huge selection on the menu but the staff was great and it was a pleasure to eat breakfast there every morning. I don't remember the name of the lady who made the omelets and eggs to order but she was so nice and always smiling. If you get an all inclusive you can eat at any El Cid in town. They all have great service, you get a free shuttle, and the selection is great. The prices are reasonable if you choose not to get the all inclusive. The staff that help you with luggage and rides into town are great. I could go on and on. It was excellent. We want to travel to other destinations and El Cids in Mexico but we will be back to the El Cid Marina.
“MAZATLAN EXCELLENCE”
We usually go to Puerto Vallarta but had to visit Mazatlan to deliver a boat. We needed something close to the marina and the El Cid was perfect. This resort while a little far from the city center fills the bill for those wanting a great palce to stay. Due to the economy the rates were excellent, the hotel and rooms are beautiful and well maintained. Would highly recommend if you don't mind being out a little ways from the tourist center. The hotel restaurant was OK but thre are many great places within 3-4 miles.
“Great place. Glad to be home.”
Great place. Great price. Enjoyed our time at the hotel. Relaxing. Pool by our unit was almost too warm to swim in.
“Can't wait to come back!”
I came to Mazatlan with my mom for the first time to celebrate my birthday a little early. We opted for all inclusive and researched many hotels but The El Cid Marina had great reviews and was a part of the other El Cid locations so we felt it was the best choice. We were right! I could not have been more pleased. Our room far exceeded my expectations- we had a wonderful view from the balconies and so much space- the air and fans helped keep us cool when we needed them. The staff was so incredibly helpful and friendly. We had so many choices for places to eat-El Patio and Alcazar were our favorites. The pools were all beautiful and everything was so well kept. I honestly can not wait to come back to Mazatlan and I will absolutely be staying at the El Cid. If you want to be closer to action consider one of the 3 other locations, although they are a short shuttle ride away- courtesy of the El Cid.
“remote location”
while this resort is very nice with great pools and veiws it is so far from the rest of mazatlan's attractions that you spend too much time and money getting around.
“Can't wait to get back to Mazatlan”
The staff at the El Cid Marina is very freindly and always going the extra mile to satisfy your needs. We especially want to thank Fredy our Bellman ver the excellant service we received from him.
“Very relaxing resort...”
Hotel is rated 3 star which is very accurate. Not in the greatest of repair, but everything works, clean, service personnel are very polite and helpful. A great place if you just want to relax. The other sibling resorts down the street are very nice, but are frequented by mostly nationals and families. The best pool was more cold than cool. The other amenities (gym, salon/spa)are located in the sibling resorts. It would have been more convenient if the Marina had at least a gym. The timeshare people are fairly low-key. We kindly declined and received very little resistance. Several fellow tourists were time-share owners who love this resort. Mazatlan in general is probably less busy due to there is not a great deal of things to visit (no ruins, fair scuba diving) but the water is warmer than Cabo (better scuba diving). Also you can walk thru the market and along the beach without rubbing shoulders (nice!). We visited during Thanksgiving Holiday, if that matters. I will definitely plan another visit.
“Time share people are to pushy”
Very clean resort but spa and other amenities were at different location. Time share people would call room almost everyday and stop you in lobby when ever they could.
“Much better in 2006”
I have been staying at El Cid since 1998 but after disapointing stay in 2005 I wondered if it was time to switch to another hotel. I was pleasantly surprised in 2006. Customer service was much better, rooms were much cleaner so I would stay there again. the one flaw at the Marina is that their restaurant is not as good as the other El Cid hotels in Mazatlan.
