“Loved it but...”

We had a great time and the grounds were beautiful. The condo was really nice and relatively new. The only draw back to the condo was the 60 minute timers on the window unit air conditioners. It was November when we were visiting but it was still too warm to not have air conditioning at all times. We were able to rig it to stay on so we were fine after that. We stayed in room 412 and were told by other guests that the timers were not the norm. The view from our condo was just like on the web site so it was fabulous. The beach in front of this condo is just like we had read in one of the tourist books. The water is brown and the seaweed on the beach smells. I think they call it Sugar Beach. You don't notice this unless you actually try to go to the beach at this location. From the grounds it looks nice and lots of kite boarders use this beach so it is fun to watch from your lanai. The pool area was pretty and well maintained as were the grounds. Only draw back to the pool was you needed your key to get in AND out of the pool. Seemed like they needed a better system for that. Overall, we enjoyed the condo and had a wonderful time. I would recommend staying here just be sure to ask about the timers on the air!

“A nice place for those on a budget”

Positives: -Good value for the $$$ -Spotlessly clean unit -Grounds immaculant -Pool was fairly sized and clean -The activities staff were very helpful. They can book you for any activity onsite. -Lots of room in unit -BBQ grills a plus (not found in many condo communities on the island) Things to note: -No daily maid service. Once per week is all you get if staying multiple weeks. Extra cleaning available at a charge. -Towels plentiful in unit (for 2 people). -Beyond stocked paper goods is your responsibility. -no bar on-site; BYOB (the bright side is the cost savings). -Lots of people in the 40+ age bracket. Younger crowds are at the fancier resorts. -Kihei is not a quaint little town, it is a bustle of disorganized development. Felt safe there though. It was a good mix of locals and tourists. Negatives: -Appliance issues. Refrigerator did not keep food cold. Washer was noisy and leaked -The beach was seaweed infested and shallow. Swimming beaches are only minutes away. -AC unit for the main living area is undersized. The BR AC is perfectly sized. They use window type AC units in each condo vs. central AC. -Internet is very expensive as an option. The cost I pay for my home high speed service is the same as a week at this location. Consider bringing a data capable modem if you want to work on vacation or check emails.

“We would stay again.”

WE had a ground floor 1 bedroom/2 bathroom unit. Barbecues were directly outside our lanai, which was a little unsetling as users could look straight into our unit. We had to keep the curtains drawn for privacy. This was another problem as the 2 wall mounted air conditioners did not cool down the unit sufficiently. We stayed late Oct. 2009 for 6 nights. The grounds are very well maintained & the pool & spa tub were clean & tidy, barbecues clean & worked well.It is close to shopping malls etc. although you would need a car to get to them.approx 5 min drive.Too far to walk with groceries. With a car you are pretty central to most things. All in all not a bad place to stay (but get a unit above ground level) it appears to be very popular with repeat guests. We would certainly stay there again

“Wasn't that great.”

As a room on beach, it was ok. Did find 3 live waterbugs roaches? (big) in room. Front door lock was worn out or keys were bad. Staff said you just have to wiggle the key. Both AC filters appeared to have never been cleaned. This is true for every room I've ever been in on Maui. Filters need cleaning folks! Great green grounds, very nice pool and tennis courts. Beach was a mess with algae and smelled horrible.

“Was a great pick for the price I could afford.”

Really liked the location and all the room had to offer, only thing that i have to complain about was that there was something in the bed and kept biting me. Every night I would check the bed and didn't see anything, and every morning I would have new bites on me. I don't know what It was but my bites were pretty big and gross.

“Not Impressed”

The pool was closed, along with the activity center, for at least two days. The staff claimed that such was indicated on the website, but was unable to find where the pool being unavailable was made known to prospective travelers. Because the pool was closed for 2-3 days, and because no lawn chairs were available to use outside the pool area, and because the property's location wasn't at a usable part of the beach in Kihei, the property was, in effect, rendered useless while the pool was undergoing maintenance. Also, the room was decorated in pink carpet and tacky and worn home furnishings - that alluring, grandmother-from-fifties style (not to knock grandmothers generally). A pretty sub-standard experience. At the rate charged, the question would be how much more per day would it take to stay at a sufficiently better property, which I'll look into next time.
