“A great place to be.”
We had a wonderful stay.
“I would definetly stay here again!”
My husband and I booked this place per a recommendation from a friend. I loved it!! The resort has a $10.70 per day fee, but this included 2 pools/hot tubs, free movie rentals, BBQ pits and daily newspaper, and towel service. It probably included more, but that's what we used. The actual condo was nice, even if it was a bit outdated. We loved the lanai and this is also a great place to bring a family. This area is near the Kaanapali beach. The hotel itself has access to an ocean walkway to the beach, but no actual beach right in front of the hotel. We found we drove almost everywhere because we wanted to sightsee all the areas. A few great beaches are a short drive from here and also the wonderful honoua bay for snorkeling. There was a washer/dryer, so we did all our laundry before coming home. Safeway and another grocery store are nearby, as well as the Lahaina town, with everything you need, even Pandas, Outback and Subway. The Cheeseburgers in Paradise off of front street in Lahaina is a great eat. Have fun. You will not go wrong with this condo. All rooms are non smoking, unless you book with an owner and not the resort. We booked both car and resort and saved a ton of money. Keep that in mind with Expedia.
“Great Holiday”
Great place to stay, room and kitchen had been re-modeled, granite countertops and new appliances. Gardens and pools were immaculate
“Best if you have no kids”
This is a big condo complex, but the units are quite nice and the laundry service is good. The problems I saw involved kids. The pool rules are quite detailed and restrictive - no jumping into the pool, etc. Everyone pretty much ignores the rules until one of the "enforcement ninjas" suddenly materializes and chastises your five-year-old for jumping off the edge. Also, they claim to have a daily child-care club arrangement with the place next door, but when we called they said it was only available two days that week and no one ever got back when we left our message. So your only child care options are a list of baby sitters in the area. Also, if you're a smoker, you're going to find this place unusually restrictive. There are only five locations in the entire complex - all in the middle of the parking lot, where smoking is allowed. And I know one lady who got jumped by a "ninja" for lighting up when she was still about 12 feet short of the smoking station. It was pretty unnecessary.
“Nice stay in Papakea”
We stayed at Papakea for one night before returning to Seattle. The units are individually owned but serviced by Aston. Our unit (K405) was a 2 bd, 1.5 bath with sleeping loft. Spacious, with a view and all the amenities. The resort has 2 pools and lots of space for lounging and playing on the beach. Our unit had been recently updated in the 2 baths and kitchen. Beds were comfortable but squeaky. Linens were average but clean. The neighborhood had an ABC store and a few small restaurants within walking distance. Parking was ample and free.
“Amazing”
Great place for sure! Loved every minute of it! Great and friendly staff. We went for out honeymoon and they upgraded us for free. I reccommend of corner unit. It was awesome to have a home away from home. Fully furnished, full kitchen condo, washer n dryer, lots of closet space, dishes, dish washer, even board games, library, dvd player and play station, FREE. I also would recommend a bottom unit as it is nice to walk out the patio to the gardens and beach. They even had snorkel equipment, tennis rackets, and beach chairs in our room. I'd check on each room though, cause we did learn they are privately owned. ABSOLUTELY loved it though, I'd veen live there. Amazing property, gardens, beach, and even a putting green and golf course. Not to mention the pools and ammenities. Greta location, close to grocery and Whalers village, even Kaanapali golf courses and beach right next door ;)
“Hotel fine, airline service not so good”
Lost a day of vacation time because of the airlines
“Papakea Ambush”
We were very surprised when we checked out to discover there was an additional $150 charge for the little bottles of shampoo and soaps that are normal part of the hotel charge. There were several days we didn't get service because we hung the "do not disturb" sign on the door, but they charged us anyway. They told us it was our fault if we didn't use the service. We actually bring our own soap and shampoo anyway. It's clear the resort is just out to scam the visitors. We'll never go back.
“Very unclean room, very old”
Room is very unclean , internet will not connect. ants in ther room, bathroom is so small. we never felt it is 3 star hotel. They need to upgrade TVs Only good thing is the beach,
“Will return to Papakea in the near future”
A wonderful resort with reasonable costs. We enjoyed the stay. Our studio is well kept and clean with all utensils and kitchen stuff that we need for our vacation. The staff at Papakea is amazingly helpful. We love the place and will return to there one day. We do miss the resort and the beautiful garden and the beach there, a good relaxing area with not so high prices.
