"Definitely pay the extra couple bucks for a very enjoyable stay in Trinidad. This was probably the nicest part of my trip. Knowing I was coming back to such a beautiful hotel every day was the highlight of my day. Great food, very pricy but ultimately there’s no food in walking distance. "

"We stayed here for Carnival week and arrived Thursday and did not receive any house keeping until we checked out a week later. Room was cheap for Carnival but understandably so. Front desk staff and breakfast staff were friendly and helpful. Felt safe in location but it isn't a walkable area and need to get transportation to anywhere in Port of Spain. No phone in room. No safe, which is essential. Bathroom very dated with bathtub painted with latex white paint so was peeling off during showers. Water pressure in shower good. Property and rooms need renovations and upgrades. Would not stay again. "

"We loved our stay at the Las Cuevas Beach Lodge. Huge room with fantastic views, very friendly helpful staff and an amazing beach directly across the road. As long as you don’t expect five star facilities when only paying their very affordable rates, I think you would also enjoy staying here. Some of the facilities are basic but we were comfortable and enjoyed the bar/restaurant. I would highly recommend spending some time here."

"- Room had to be changed 3 times. - Bed linens were stained. - Front desk clerk seemed annoyed when asked to change rooms - said there were no housekeeping on duty. - Bathroom towels were all mismatched in color as well as heavily stained. - Vanity drawers contained a spider and cobwebs. - Room did not even have a complimentary coffeemaker or anything to make a cup of tea in the morning. - Fridge in the room was filthy. - Curtains in room was not opaque and allowed light through. - Bed moved throughout the night whilst asleep (wheels could not lock). - Bathtub was too high for my and edges were sharp. - No vending machines available on premises. - Available on premises was undercooked. - Tables in dining room/area were all dusty and filthy. - Wifi did not work throughout my stay. - TV remote did not contain batteries. I had to ask front desk clerk for batteries and she was already annoyed. - Lastly, the overall appearance of this establishment looked liked a seedy motel where you would go to have a one-night stand!"
