“meet the ONS family”
WELL RUN FAMILY STAFFED MOTEL.. ROOM WAS CLEAN AND VERY NEW AS MOTEL IS ONLY 2yrs OLD.STAFF VERY HELPFUL AND POLITE WHICH IS RARE.. EVENING 3COURSE MEAL WAS EXCELLENT AND DIFFERENT EVERY NIGHT. WELL PRICED AS WELL.MOTEL OFFERS REASONABLY PRICED EXCURSIONS WHICH ARE GOOD YOU ARE NOT RUSHED EVER .BREAKFAST IS ADEQUETTE AS ITS SO HOT IN MAURITIUS.. I WOULD USE AGAIN AS IT HAD A FAMILY FEEL TO THE PLACE..LOTS OF SHOPS TO EXPLORE AND A MARKET.. ONS IS WHAT IT IS FRIENDLY WELL RUN MOTEL....

As ONS is not even a year old, the whole place is brand new. This small, family-run hotel may need more work to make it more aesthetically pleasing (e.g. hanging more pictures on the walls), but the basics were covered (clean rooms, good security, etc.) and the service provided was priceless. The staff were very approachable and friendly, and the owner was very accommodating, even providing us with home-cooked dinners at reasonable prices. They really tried to make us feel at home. Even though ONS is conveniently located in the centre of Mahebourg, which is a great place to travel to and from via the local buses, the town itself is quiet and everything shuts after 6pm. Therefore, it is not the place to go if you are single and want nightlife. However, if you want to enjoy the local culture and see the unspoilt parts of Mauritius, then this is the place to be. The best thing about our stay were the trips we did with the owner – very affordable, had plenty of time to see the various sites, and the Mauritian-born owner was a very knowledgeable tour guide, who would even spend time negotiating prices for us for the activities we participated in. This personalised service ensured that we would not get ripped off and gave us plenty of time to enjoy what we were doing. If you want to thoroughly enjoy and be highly satisfied with your trip to Mauritius, then the ONS hotel is the place to stay.

Un petit hôtel très correct, les chambres sont spacieuses, propres et confortables. L'accueil est agréable. A recommander pour les petits budgets et les courts séjours. Les transports et commodités sont à proximité (bus, taxi, marché, magasins).

We just had an unhappy stay at this Motel . We were told we can come back at anytime of the night and if the gate was locked just to ring the bell. One night we came back to find ourselves locked out. We rang the bell repeatedly, banged on the gate panel so hard that Police from 100metres away heard it and came to investigate. We all tried to ring the numbers given and no one answered. We were forced to sleep the night in a car. The next day the owner tried to explain that the bell did not work due to a power cut. We checked this with neighbours who said there were no power cut. He could not explain why he did not amswer our phone calls. Other points to consider: * No guests allowed. As there is no reception there is no way your taxi driver or relative/friend can contact you in the Motel. There is no phone in rooms and you are on the 3rd floor. * There are restrictions on the use of the lift. * we were told not to make any noise and normal conversation in the corridor is seen as noise. * The motel is situated next door to a Mosque. Prayers start at 5am everyday through amplified speakers. This is ok if you like to start your day early! * You may get hardsell daytrips provided by the Motel. There were no lights accessible near the bed. If you need the toilet at night you had to grope your way round the room to switch on the only main light. * My advice to the old man/ owner is to leave it to his sons to deal with guests and he should stay well away.
“ONS Motel - Guest House”
Le gros problème de cet hôtel est sa situation, juste à côté d'une mosquée. Réveil tous les jours à 4h20 avec la sono ... qui hurle à quelques mètres de votre fenêtre ... pas l'idéale pour dormir. Le second souci, c'est le ménage des chambres. Elles ne sont nettoyées qu'un jour sur 2. En clair, faite votre lit 1 jour sur 2 !

NE JAMAIS Y ALLER pas de frigo pas de micro onde pas de lave linge pas de seche linge pas de balcon dans la chambre vue horrible etc.......
