This is a small aparthotel on two floors, set in attractive gardens with a terrace overlooking the town and harbour, in a quiet part of the old town, well away from the big tourist hotels to the west. It's a short walk to the seafront, cable car and the town centre, and an equally short but steep walk uphill again, but 3 or 4 local buses stop right outside. The rooms are spacious, bathrooms in good condition, and the kitchens are equipped with microwave, two hot plates, kettle, toaster and fridge. Take you own salt and pepper.
We plan to stay here again next time we visit Madeira. All of the staff were helpful and efficient. Can't comment on the breakfasts because we didn't try them.
