“Functional, Affordable, Good If Traveling with Kids/Teens”

My family of four (2 adults, 2 teens) booked a family suite and were happy with this clean hotel with modern conveniences compared to many hotels in Europe - full sized tub/shower with a shower curtain & a kitchenette in a suite with a separate bedroom with a double bed, and another double bed in the main room. It's very hard to find hotels in Europe that will allow you to have a room with 2 teenagers & 2 adults. We don't want to double our room costs, so I always seek to find a hotel that will allow us all in one room. We were all happy to have a little privacy & a kitchenette at a reasonable price. This hotel is not within walkable distance of Old Lyon or the beautiful Parc de la Tête d'Or, so we drove everywhere. Free or cheap underground parking is available around the tourist areas of Lyon. The hotel is in the newer part of town which is not very scenic, but that was OK with us. The view out the window was of a big shanty town across the train tracks. But again it was convenience, space and affordability we were after, not luxury. The hotel was clean, the staff was helpful, and there is a laundry facility in the hotel available for a reasonable fee. Heads up, the washer cycle takes forever, but still kudos for convenience. If we didn't have a car, I'm not sure we would have liked it although the train station is nearby and the front desk agent told us we could take the bus to old Lyon. In short, the hotel is clean and functional but certainly not luxurious or scenic.

“Not a bad choice!”

The hotel was very conveniently located close to Gare de Lyon- Part Dieu train station. The room was clean. I felt for the price, Hotel Athena, which is directly beside the train station was a better deal and the beds were more comfortable. The bus to the airport leaves several times an hour from right in front of the train station. If you wanted a housekeeping unit this hotel would be fine for a few nights. There is so much to see in Lyon that you will only be there to sleep. The mall is directly across the street. Two good restaurants to try on the other end of the mall are Paradis de Fruit and Wocko. Both very good and close by.

“All we needed!”

Resid Hotel was less than 5 minutes away fom Part Dieu Station. The hotel itself was clean and simple.... all we really needed! Room was small but perfect for a short holiday... just used it to sleep and shower in really. Only problem we had with the room was the pillows were rubbish. The hotel itself is located in the business district of Lyon which would be handy for some, but for us it was close to a friends appartment. Only took about 20 minutes to walk through the city to the old town. Overall the hotel was all we needed and was nice and cheap :-D

“Fonctionnel..”

Hôtel situé à 10 minutes à pied de la gare, pas grand chose à proximité immédiate, quartier résidentiel A noter entre voie férrée et grande avenue donc un peu bruyant chambre bien agencée le prinicipe de l'appart hôtel était parfait pour un déplacement professionnel

Proche gare mais bruyant surtout du côté voie de chemin de fer Toutes commodités comme tous les hôtels de la chaine (mais pas de couverture ou oreiller supplémentaire en cas de froid) Personnel d'acceuil allant, selon les personnes, de juste courtois à très désagréable

“Bof bof”

Très impersonnel. Déco minimale ou franchement beauf. Plafonniers trop lumineux et pas de lumière indirecte. Le genre de chambre/appartement à vous faire déprimer.

“Homeless campsite”

Good location just a 5 min walk to train station, but stay closer to train station. This hotel has a covered area just beside the office. Many homeless people camped day and night behind the office and when that area filled they camped along the side of the office. We came out to our car to find someone there on the sidewalk just 10 feet from a very busy street.
