Poor customer focus. Lovely room.
The room was very nice. Nearly ran out of tp- they could have had an extra roll available. The parking situation is abysmal; and they were repaving while we were there- causing a bad situation to be much worse. Very few handicapped parking spots- and the location is very hilly- no assigned parking for hotel guests (this is an apartment complex- so you are competing with long term residents for parking places). When we asked where we should park during repaving, we were told to park in an lot that was several steep staircases away. I found the staff in the guest office to be insensitive and condescending. None of these conditions were disclosed when booking, so, "SURPRISE"!!! Lovely room- near my son (whom we were visiting) but... the staff was pretty awful.

Convenient location, close to Hollywood, Universal studio, UCLA, etc; fully equipped kitchen, clean and large rooms; the property is under renovation so it’s a bit hard to find parking close to the building; the shower and power socket in the second bathroom didn’t work at all, we ended up using one bathroom for the whole family. For the price we paid, it’s still a not bad place.

Liked the amenities in the apartment, but parking was very limited and inconvenient. Construction was ongoing and noisy. Location was great and close to everything we wanted to visit during our trip.

There was a reason the main photo is of the pool (which wasn’t open by the way), the block we stayed in was horrific! Slabs of wallpaper peeling off the walls in the corridor, tan carpet that is now black and terrible lighting. Reception was a demountable block and if they don’t get your email prior, it is almost impossible to find without locals directions. Inside the apartment, their idea of renovating is a thick coat of paint which causes some cupboards not to open. Apparently some blocks have been renovated, but certainly not ours at time of visiting and we had to pay the same rates as those whose buildings that had been.

Excellent ubicatiin, I rent for 7 days and Nice apartment but no fresh towels available, no laundry room available in my bulding. Too many restrictions to use parking lots. Access at my room was terrible. People like homeless living inside the bulding, smoking and with storage boxes in the balcony areas. They ask me the last day check out early because they will instal/fix a new door/window... sad experience!

The service was poor. No information in rooms to assist with the development. Pool etc. waited hours for additional towels. Day of arrival we waited until 5 pm to get the room. Hallway was dingy. Doors were kept open. Anyone could enter the inside of the nuilding If we were supposed to wash our towels directions to laundry room should have been given I have stayed at mamt time shares and ny far this wad a poor experience

Location is very busy with limited close parking. My biggest complaint is that they attempted to charge my full stay a week before I arrived. Who does that? Room was reasonable, corridors were dirty. Located close to Universal Studios and freeway.

I would not recommend this place to any one. This place has the worst service and the room are not very good at all. They don't have maid service that works to clean the room. (if you stay there a week, then you will have 1 day of maid service) They don't even come and drop of clean towels for you, when you ask for them someone come and drops a bag of towels on the floor of your room. We got to this place at 11am and they told us the room is not ready (still needs to be cleaned is what they said) and will be ready between 3:30pm - 4:30pm we ended up going to a near by mall and got back to the hotel at 4:45pm and the room was still not ready, and they tell us that the room currently does not have any furniture so we will have to wait. (the website says there is 24 hours check in) but the office closes at 5:00pm (which is in a trailer) ---- we told them that we can not wait any further as we have evening plans and need to get ready to and need our room. So we were allowed to enter the room with no furniture, and realized the room was still dirty, the kitchen counters were dirty and the floor look like it had not been cleaned. 30 min later 4-guys come in to put a couch and other furniture in the room, there was a little mess that was created. One of them told me that they will do a small clean up right now and then the maid service will come tomorrow to clean the room property. - the following day when we came back to the room at 4pm and the room had not been clean!

This property is in a great location. Clean room. Great amenities and room considerations like mops, laundry baskets, kitchen sponge and dish soap . Check in was professional. Office is a little difficult to locate since it's a residential complex with multiple buildings. However once orientated to the guidelines and building location, all is good.

it was extremely hard to find the place, and the apartment needs remolding, it was okay, the bathroom to the main room, looked like it wasn't cleaned the shower- so didn't use it at all while staying there, and NO PARKING, it was so hard to find parking. The apartment was okay, the tv in the main living room didn't work! Don't think will stay again

Ok space that really needs a new cleaning staff
The property itself is alright. I like the idea of basically getting a studio apartment and the location is good. There are ups and downs of renting from what is also an apartment complex, such as possible friction with tenants and the tight parking (I found myself having to walk quite far each night. NBD for me, but might be for some). However, as others have noted, the buildings are not particularly clean, especially in the hallway areas, which look pretty sketchy. My biggest issue is that my gf left her leather jacket and evening gown in the closet when we checked out. Upon discovering this that night, we immediately called the front desk to inform them exactly what the items were and where they had been left. The clerk said we would receive a call back when they retrieved them. A couple days passed with no calls so I called again. The informed me the cleaning crew would have taken all items to their off-site lost and found and they would need to search their facility for them and call me back. After a week with no calls I called again. They claimed to talk to their cleaner and said no such items were found, which of course means someone decided to keep them for themselves, as they were pretty unique and obvious items. The location is fine, but the set-up they have with their second rate cleaning staff is earning them lots of negative marks. They really need to change this part of their business.

Great place but POOR Service !!
Its is nice and quiet area but it needs improvements. The hallways carpet leading to your room need cleaning, the AC needs service.. a lot of knocking noise. Very secured apt. Complex. Put competent people to be at the guard shack that knows the complex & willing to do their job. In this area is a lot to do & enjoy.

If you’re going to Universal Studios or Hollywood, the location is great. If you’ve stayed in an Oakwood before, this place doesn’t hold up. It’s a pretty old, run down complex. But they’re renovating.

Horrendous experience
We arrived on time for the check-in time and started completing paperwork but told that the room wasn't ready and we should come back in a hour. We asked if there was a supermarket, we're given details but the address was wrong. Came back a hour later and the room was still not ready. Other people in the queue were experiencing the same problem. We were eventually given a different room which had already been allocated to someone who had not yet arrived. Parking facilities are horrendous. Entrance to the apartmentcomplex was very poor due to the traffic arrangements. Exit was worse. Room did not have any clothes hangars, no safe, minimal cutlery and kitchen equipment. Glad to leave.
