Doubletree is adjacent to Little Tokyo and between 2 Metro stations. For DTLA, it’s a safer alternative to the historic core. Rooms are clean, staff are friendly, and there is an intriguing garden area at the hotel, which is like an oasis amidst the urban sprawl. There’s a nice little coffee spot around the corner inside the Miyako Hotel, and Little Tokyo itself has a nice variety of cafes, stores, and bakeries. Downtown is walkable to Grand Central Market. Plus, the Metro at 1st and Alameda takes you all the way to Santa Monica. I’ll be returning the next time I venture to Los Angeles.

The hotel itself was nice. I stayed for a week and EVERY DAY we were woken up by people protesting at 6 in the morning until 10 am. We asked if we could switch rooms to the other side since the protestors had loud horns but the staff said no. It definitely ruined the experience which is unfortunate because the property itself is nice, but the rude awakenings aren’t worth it.

Staff is very friendly, at least the Employee that helped me at the front desk. But hotel lacks cleanliness! It seems like the room that I got was barely cleaned. Mostly everything in the room was dirty and dusty. Hotel needs a major cleaning. The area didn’t stay behind. Loud noise by protesters in the morning. This will be my first and last time staying at that hotel.

It was nice, but the AC auto is loud, and you can hear guests from outside at night when sleeping talking opening, and closing the door.

Guess we had bad luck.. someones dog barking nonstop all night. Then on checking in and out had very rude front desk staff that roll their eyes when I simply was trying to buy a 8 ounces bottle of water for 9 dollars when the 2 dollar water in the vending machine conveniently was out of order. One of the reasons I picked this hotel was because parking was supposedly included but no.. it's "included" for a cheap price of $47 self park or $54 for Valet.

We loved the staff especially Jorge (Bellman) Everyone we talked to on property knew directions and what to expect. Your team loves their city. Everything on property including the room was excellent. Bad side.... bring ear plugs. Too much going on outside that could be heard into the room from protests to large scale fireworks productions.

The room was clearly dated with peeling wallpaper and visually dirty ventilation for a/c. One wall of electric sockets didnt work and wasnt even completely fastened to the wall. The fire/smoke detector was working (lights were on) but wasnt properly mounted. The window frame was bare wood as if quickly repaired without finishing it off to prevent splinters. This was room 1415.

GIVE THE EMPLOYEES THE WORK CONTRACT THEY WANT. The hotel is in a great location but when we arrived come to find out the employees were on strike and that is fine they need to fight for a decent treatment after dedicating their lives to the company. But the noise they were making woke us up at 7am. CORPORATE IF YOU ARE READING THIS MAKE THE CONTRACT HAPPEN FOR THE EMPLOYEES.
