“Perfect apartment but not for light sleepers”

Girly weekend in Lisbon. Our 2 bedroom apartment was perfect ( 4 girls). Close to everything. It is a quiet area day time but noisy during night (great for night life). It didn't bother us because we were dancing the night away. Our only complaint. After check out we wanted to drop off our bags to their Portugal Ways lounge but it was closed (noone answered the phone). It was pouring rain and we were soaked. We managed to leave the bags in the department store Core de Ingles and shop until it was time to fly home.

“Nice Clean Modern Apartment”

Positives: The location is good. The apartment is an easy walk to the main sights of Baixa/Chiado and on the route of a number of buses and tram 25. It is also a 5 minute walk to the Elevador Bica which takes you to Barrio Alto. The underground and overground (to Belem and coast) are also within a ten minute walk. There are a number of small bars and supermarkets on the doorstep, a larger supermarket just past Elevador Bica and of course the undercover market is very close by also. It's in a lovely old apartment building which has been decorated to maintain some of the period features, but also is decked out in clean modern white lines with all mod cons, great to have fridge/freezer, microwave, oven etc. It was great to be able to cook a proper meal. Beds were really comfy and despite some noise from the trams, had a great nights sleep! Negatives: There is no visible markings to let you know it's the feel good apartments, it was very difficult to find late at night in the rain, trying to spot the number 18 above the door meant the taxi driver reveresed up and down the street a few times! There is no way to contact the management, without ringing on your own phone. We had a problem with the fridge which was fixed, but I had an expensive international call bill on my mobile. The shower was extrememly powerful and being positioned on the back wall, meant it was very easy to flood the bathroom!

“Bad start-great finish”

Started off bad.This was an apartment rental that was suppose to email entrance code because there is no front desk/person on the premises. The code was incorrect and we could not get into the front door of the building. We called the number for the rental and got nowhere. We called Expedia and they tried and got nowhere. Lucky for us other tenants arrived and gave us the building code and told us how to access the mailbox containing the electronic key for the apartment. We eventually got the key and entered our apartment. Make sure you get the door access code and the mailbox code and apartment number before you arrive. Be aware the electronic key also turns on all the electricity in the apartment. Be sure to read all the directions (in back of apt. door) to figure these details. Once this nerve racking event was over then everything else went smoothly. The apartment was just as the pictures on the website, fully furnished and roomy. Lots of street noise forced us to close the windows and use the AC. Surrounding neighborhood is the "old city" so there are some run down buildings in between beautifully renovated buildings. You get a nice feel for the locals in this neighborhood. Lots of little shops, restaurants, local fish/food market,main transportation hub near by. Easy access to airport bus.

bel appartement très agréable et spacieux situé un peu à l'écart du centre ville. le système d’accès à l'appartement par code nécessite un échange téléphonique au préalable mais fonctionne très bien. quelques fonctionnalités dans l'appartement laissaient à désirer mais dans l'ensemble très correct.

“Good accommodation.”

Very pleased with the accommodation,comfortable, clean and modernly presented and furnished. Not right in the centre, but nice restuarants in easy walking distance and also accessible to the centre as the city is quite small. Glad to be on one of the higher floors as a couple of nights were quite noisy outside on the street. No reception but cleaning staff there on arrival were very helpful.

“A recommander ?”

A notre arrivée, petit problème de numéro d'appart aloué puisqu'il n'y avait pas de clé dans la boîte aux lettres donnée au téléphone à partir de la France (il est vrai 15 jours auparavant ! Changement d'appart après contact téléphonique à partir de notre portable (il n'y a pas d'accueill, donc retard dans la prise de possession de la location. Peu de vaisselle et pas suffisamment de points lumineux le soir. Grand bémol aussi en ce qui concerne les nuisances sonores malgré le double vitrage. Autres locataires très bruyants la nuit et décidés à ne pas tenir compte de nos observations. Ce n'est pas une auberge de jeunesse mais le chahut dans les couloirs et les apparts (à 2 heures du matin et +) pourrait y faire penser. Personne pour veiller au respect de la quiétude des autres occupants. Dommage car la situation dans Lisbonne est plutôt agréable.
