Aloha Joseph,
First, we want to thank you for your stay with us, and we sincerely hope that you are doing well. As for your comments, we wish to respond back to you, by beginning with a brief description of our property you have called "very unusual". We would say "it is very unique". The Inn consists of three main buildings, very distinguished from one another. Sitting on almost one acre of land, this property has its own beautiful tropical setting. I wouldn't describe it as a "family compound cobbled together". Guests' noises have never been an issue that has been complained about here, as we have always been blessed by respectful considerate guests. Each room offers our guests earplugs for we have coqui frogs that delight us with their melody each night, which is called a unique experience by most of our guests. It is humid in Hawaii, and here in Kailua-Kona, known as the drier side of the island, we are in a unique area where it is cooler. Whenever we get rain, we may enjoy the aroma of it outdoors, but it didn't even rain here during your stay. Your room has plenty of ventilation, does not have any musty smell, and it was never, even once, brought to our attention while you were here about any musty smell, so perhaps your congestion came from another source. As for your capitalized opinion in regards to the safety of our property, we must disagree. First of all, you were given a deep cleaned, sanitized room, for that's how we welcome everyone here for their stay. Our buildings are open-air, and your room had an outdoor private entry and lanai. We don't see too many guests wearing masks outdoors, and we don't recall seeing you wearing one either. You made no mention of this at all while here, and we had no discussions with you regarding masks or any other current events. So we are not sure how you claim to know our views about any of these things. Yes, we are Christians, saved by the Grace and Mercy of our Lord and Savior Jesus who loves sinners like us. We love you and everyone here for we have been blessed by Him, beyond words. There are several Scriptures displayed on our Property, including Bibles in each room. We pray they bless your heart, and that you find joy and His Peace in your life. Next, how can you proclaim in this letter that you know our attitudes about anything because we have a large American flag at the entrance of our property? We are very respectful, loving, and considerate people, and adding to this, very proud to be Americans. I (Miriam) must add this to our reply: the American Flag means so much to me. I love the USA so much. Born in Ecuador, I became an American Citizen in 1996, and learning about the history of this Nation, how this Great Nation began, the Patriotism of our Founding Fathers, and the heroism of many who has fought for the cause of our Freedom (that you and I enjoy), has caused my heart great respect and Honor for my Country. Our American Flag stands for freedom for all people, and I am very honored
