The room was ok. Very dated and the carpet was pretty dirty. We were not able to figure out how to turn the heat on so we went to the office. Oh they forgot to tell us that the heat was out in that room. No other rooms available so they gave us a space heater to use.
It looks older on the outside but inside it was very clean, had great tv channels, a fridge, microwave and internet. We returned there on our trip home
The Royal is a step back in time that has been updated with the modern amenities. The room was clean and quiet and the owner very amiable. Be sure to say hello to the greeter cat.

Would definitely not stay there again. The shower was broken, rooms very old, the front office smelt of cats. Only stayed because we arrived too late to find another place.
This is what is expected for an older property. Clean, quiet, and a good night's sleep is 5/5. Needs updates but then obviously would cost more to stay. Bottom line, yes, I would return!

I thank you for your review. Sorry you were unhappy with your stay. If you would let us know the problems while you’re in the room, we would do our best to make you comfortable. We try our best to get all the smoke smells or food smells out of the room. However, if we don’t know, it’s there, there’s not much we can do, so I do apologize.
The carpet was dirty with stains in large areas. The bathroom was clean and all pieces worked as designed. The twin bed mattress was terrible. It was too soft. The A/C didnt cool the room so it was hot and uncomfortable. The queen bed was fine. There was no ice machine. The host offered ice from his freezer but I didn't want to take his ice. This was an old motel and it could use some updating and a carpet cleaner!

I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay in our “old” motel. The motel dates from the mid-century, so yes, some parts are showing their age. And we are replacing carpets as fast as our budget allows, so I apologize for stains in some of the rooms. The carpets are cleaned regularly but some stains are tougher than others, especially when we’re fully booked each day. As for ice, the owner was not offering you his personal ice. We have a small ice machine and keep a bag in our freezer for our guests convenience. Glad the queen bed was suitable and thank you for making us aware of the single bed. If you return you might ask for an upgraded room with new carpet.
Hometown Michigan with engaging hospitality. Pride in ownership and community. We were treated like family. We were grateful. We were finally at the last stop of a very long trip.

Might be OK for two guys on a fishing trip but that's it. Rooms were old, musty and carpet was stained. Although quite dated, the bathroom looked clean.

Many of our guests enjoy the vintage parts of our motel. We keep the rooms very clean and with fresh linens and bathroom toiletries, along with 40” flat screen tvs, air conditioning and very personable owners, it’s a pleasurable experience for many. We have replaced carpets in several rooms and are continually working on upgrades. I’m sorry your stay was not a good one, but thanks for letting us know.
This motel offers easy highway access and reasonably quick access to downtown sites. It's very clean and well kept in spite of being a little older.Staff was very pleasant.

Sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay at our vintage motel. We’re happy you saw that it was clean and tidy, but I’m not sure what does smell was in the room. It would be helpful for us to know this while you’re staying with us so that we could fix anything that was wrong. I do know that the towel that you mentioned in the room was laid on the floor under the air conditioner because the air conditioner was leaking water onto the carpet. Sorry if this bothered you.
This a vintage motel. The owners are very friendly & helpful. Our room had been completely redone & was comfortable clean. Being able to park right outside our door was a plus. It was a good stay.

We know our motel is older and could use a bit of updating, which we’re working on every day. However, I’m surprised that you thought things were dirty, as we are usually noted for how clean it is. Our staff works hard to make sure the rooms are clean, so I wish you would’ve mentioned this while you were here so we could’ve done something to make you more comfortable.

Thank you for your review and for letting us know about the water pressure. We have actually checked with the city on this problem, and they said it’s our position in town that sometimes lowers the pressure.
