The room was nice. Liked that the bathroom light and fan were separate switches.
HOWEVER... we used the pool. It had not been cared for in quite awhile. It would be best to close it than encourage anyone to use it. Do you have a person checking QA? They have not been doing their job.
It was clean and staff was friendly. One was sleeping at her desk...someone stated the is a common occurrence. (Just wasnt sure if she was ok.) Breakfast suited everyone in our group. Kids really enjoyed the pool.
The gentleman that checked us in was extremely friendly. Made it difficult to be upset that our heater was on high almost cooking us out of our room. The buttons were missing so there was no ability to control the temperature or the output level. Had to unplug it and open a window to cool down. The “hot” water was like warm at best. The girl that checked us out was very clearly sick or completely out of it. But the room was clean minus the 1960’s style heater in the room.
Very clean. Almost no one in the property the night I stayed, but someone was put right next to me. These were adjoining rooms obviously the door between locked, but paperthin walls and the television next-door kept me awake most the night. Would’ve been very easy to separate us given that there may have been 10 rooms occupied the night I stayed. Disappointing that no thought was given to that. I spent two nights and arrived for a relatively late check in the first night. It was after 10 PM, and the gentleman behind the desk while nice enough was unable to figure out the check-in system. It was almost 30 minutes before I found myself in a room, and it still wasn’t completely resolved.
Very nice older hotel. Attractive lobby and artwork throughout. Lobby had area guide in ringbinder and history info...nice! Close to highway and dining options. Nice breakfast choices.
Only negative was lack of elevator.

Location is fine. Room is clean but run down. Not so bad but overpriced for what you get. I will say that all the hotels in the area are pretty expensive so comparatively this is not bad I guess.

It was a comfortable room. The shower water never got very hot. The hair dryer wouldn’t stay on without me holding the button on the wall.
A fairly nice hotel for the area. There really aren't a lot of places to stay if you don't want to camp. Bed was comfy and room decor was relatively updated. Service was good. Our room was missing a shower curtain when we arrived, and they promptly got us another. Kitchen workers were very nice. Normal hotel hot breakfast.
This facility is in need of an update. Carpet is stained and dingy, Furnishings are outdated. Room had a stale oder. Luggage carts were less than adequate. Breakfast was not very good.
Return stay on our way home, convenient location close to major fuel business which is huge and has everything you might need. Lack of restaurants in the area that reopened due to Covid a concern.
The woman who checked us in,was lacking in personality! Also, when our key card would no let us in the building or our room the last night we were there, she never said anything, just made us new keys! No apology, explanation or anything! Also there was a lot of trash outside and the flower gardens needed weeding and watering.

I apologize for my Front Desk Attendant. The Front Desk Staff has been working overtime because we are short staffed at the moment, so she was probably tired. That is also the reason for the weeds in the flower beds. We have new people in training and will be working weeds. I hope you stay with us again on your next trip to the UP!
