Fine place. Very clean. Nice bathroom. Very small with just 2 tiny tables and some hooks. Got tired of stepping over the open suitcase on the floor.

Location is very convenient and it is "cheaper" then the other options at time of booking. The room was extremely hot had both windows open during the night and it made no difference.

The stench at this hotel/hostel was unimaginable. It felt like it was imbedded in my nostrils. No TV and the toilet had issues flushing. The garden rooftop was lovely and the food was great in the bar/restaurant. However I would never stay here again

It was a very convenient basic room, exactly where and when we needed it. Although the room was over a bar and adjacent to a roof top bar, the soundproofing was excellent. We heard a lot of street noise but none from the building.

Very basic room with shower. No tv in room and nowhere to put clothing as no drawers or wardrobe. Location is great and central for just about everything. Staff helpful and when we asked for additional pillows they delivered them to the room within 10 minutes. Could do with a wee refresh of paint

Great place for a one-night stop - no frills but shower was great and staff super friendly. Bed was unfortunately very hard and pillow flat so I didn’t sleep particularly well, but it was fine for a night. Location hard to beat and the bar downstairs is great!

I had a single budget room and for the price it would have been good value but for two issues. Firstly the mattress needs to be replaced as you can feel every spring and secondly even budget rooms should have a certain standard of clenliness and the bird crap on the outside of the window was just unacceptable. On the plus side the shower was excellent and the room had a good radiator so very warm. Wi-Fi was patchy. Also the single room 3 was not too noisy at night which could be an issue with other rooms.

Comfortable stay
Simple room but it was clean and and the beds were comfortable and fairly priced. The restaurant was super busy but the employee immediately dropped what he was doing to get us checked in so that was greatly appreciated. Was fine for one night in Inverness

Great place to stay for 1-2 nights. Small and clean basic room has everything you need while traveling. Close to everything in Inverness. The best part it’s above a brewery/pizza kitchen. Very easy to check in and out.

The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was basic, just a bed and a chair. Although there was coffee supplied in the room. The only two issues I had was the bed wasn't comfortable and the entry and exit door was noisy. The door would make quite a bang when it closed.

Very disappointing
Very small room mostly taken up by the bunk bed. No storage for clothes. No furniture other than a small stool. While the shower was a fair size, you had to go sideways to get into it. The small pillow easily falls off the bed via a gap between the mattress and the bed board. A lot if noise from a) the secret garden, b) rubbish collection in the early hours and c) some sort of fan or air conditioning unit outside near the window which went active from time to time. The free WiFi was very slow and kept dropping. On the less important side, the bathroom extractor fan was not working, the light over the mirror was not working and the shower hot tap was difficult to use - I would guess it was just about to break completely. For the price (£81.00 per night), not even close to value for money! While I'll be returning to Inverness, I certainly won't be staying here again.

As basic as it gets
After an 8 hour train journey from London i was ready for a good nights sleep. I got my key from the bar staff who asked if i was staying in the Hostel or the Hotel? "Hotel!!" I said.. aah, ive found you.. Your room is through those door's past the packed drinking area. On arrival to my room i was greated with a single bed, and not much else.. No air conditioning, no fan, a small table with tea and coffee, kettle.. and the Shower / toilet area. As i was really tired, despite the loud generator nouse outside my window, and the very thin pillow and uncomfortable mattress, I had sporadic sleep.. it was at this point i spared some sympathy for the people in the Hostel.. or was this the Hostel? On waking up I had a shower and escaped back to the train station for my journey back to the South.. I bet the hotel doesnt use my bed photo to attract potential visitors in future. In summary, I didnt feel safe enough to leave my case and wander around, but for a get your head down experience I wont be coming back.

Poor accommodation for the money, not sure if the price was purely due to the inner city location. Barely slept due to an extractor fan or generator buzzing/humming the entire night. Not even a tele in the room, I have had a lot more for my money in other places.

Great vibes, perfect location

A convenient stopover
The room was pleasant but there was no TV, WiFi signal was weak and to plug in the electric kettle I had to move the bed! Hard to believe there was no socket beneath the shelf that housed the kettle. I’d been alerted to late night noise and closed the windows but was still disturbed up to midnight. Check in was simple, clear and welcoming and I was grateful that Peter offered to carry my luggage to the second floor. I chose the Black Isle rooms because of its location and it was indeed only 3 minutes from the bus station

A really warm welcome
We had an amazing warm welcome when we arrived having driven from Hertfordshire to Inverness that day. Food service was only open for a further 20 minutes due to the curfew but we were assured we would be looked after. We were with fabulous pizzas and a huge range of craft beers and other drinks. The room was comfortable and perfect for our overnight stay.

Backpacker Rooms.. Not for multiple nights
We had a family room, 2 adults, one 13 yr old boy. Bedding was a single bunk mounted above the double bed. For £115 per night, for 4 nights, I expected more: bedding was low quality, very thin pillows, thin sheets, and duvet cover. No bedside lamp, no furniture - nowhere to put clothes away, no drawers, no closet, we had to leave our clothes in their cases on the floor. After 2 days, no room cleaning - I had to ask for new towels and requested they be replaced daily, but nothing was done. no room cleaning for the four nights. I can live without a TV, but for £115, I expected good internet, but WiFi was such a low speed that I had to use my phone's 4G. Download was variable, but up to 3.83 meg, upload speed was 0.95 meg. Shower was OK, but has a very narrow sliding door to get it. Lamp over sink didn't work (minor grumble about this). Hotel supplied milk sachets were all off, and had the consistency of yoghurt. My son is in another room upstairs and reported exactly the same. When I mention this to the bar downstairs they did go and buy me a new bottle, but once only. Room supplies are not replenished. No fridge in room. On the upside, the "secret garden" bar on the roof was excellent, pizzas only, but good quality, and beer is good quality too, good choice and efficient friendly service. If they translate this service to the rooms too, then I'm sure that they can do a lot better. I will not stay there again.

Great beer downstairs!
It was my second stay here, I really like the pub and the staff. The rooms are clean, if a bit sparse. The beds are quite firm and the pillows were tough to sleep on. Overall, given the value and location, I'd stay here again!
