“Love the Hilo Hawaiin!”
It'sa shame that people usually only take the time to write if something upset them. Well, that's certainly not the case here. The Castle Hilo Hawaiin is a really nice place to stay with beautiful views and little frogs to sing you to sleep at night. I rally felt safe and secure and that I had everything I needed at my disposal. I had a great time and would not hesitate to go back.
“Served Its Purpose”
The hotel allowed a one night reservation which was all we wanted. We flew in at night and headed to the other side of the island the next afternoon. The room was comfortable and spacious. We enjoyed walking around the neighborhood looking at the banyon trees and Coconut Island. We spent the day touring the area before heading to our next destination. The hotel is in need of updating, but the rooms are clean. It was perfect for a one night stay.
“Nice place to stay if your goal is to see the volcano”
This is a older hotel, but nice and clean. It was very reasonably priced and would stay here again. We had an ocean view and it was beautiful.
“Life time experience”
Great location but facility really needs an upgrade.
“Simple hotel with a great location”
The Castle Hilo Hawaiian Hotel is a simple hotel with a great location. The view from the rooms overlooking the bay is fantastic. The nearby Coconut Island and the Japanese garden are lovely and worth strolling through at leasure. The hotel is just 5min from the airport and close enough to downtown Hilo. The room was clean and the staff was very curtious even though the hotel is rather old. The Breakfast Buffet was well stocked and a good value. Kept us going for most of the day.
“Very nice. Wouldn't stay anywhere else.”
The hotel is nice. Not too fancy. But very spacious. Too bad there's no free wi-fi. Also would be nice if there was room service as everything in Hilo is closed by 9pm.
“Great location, older property but a good deal for the price”
So, it's not a five-star hotel, but the location is pretty great (awesome view from at least half the rooms!), and I thought it was fine for the price. Yes, it's a bit old. I had a VERY good meal in their restaurant, too...
“Would stay again.”
Found hotel to be a little dated, but was clean and comfortable. Would stay again when visiting Hilo.
“If price were lower, would consider coming back.”
The BEST thing about this hotel were the staff...we absolutely LOVED them... they were helpful in everything. However for the amount of money we paid...seemed like the room had some mold problems, and needed some updating. The outside is impressive and enjoyed the microwave and small refrigerator and washer/dryer to do clothes.
“Ok hotel with great location and view”
This hotel has obviously fallen on some tough times. Amenities pretty sparse but great location. About motel 6 quality with a view.
