Excellent value in downtown HalifaxPosted 26-Jul-2014
We stayed for 2 nights, a Wednesday and Thursday and were therefore able to attend the manager's special- a nice addition to our evenings and much appreciated. Our room was comfortable and had all appropriate amenities including a fridge, microwave and ironing board. It is close to all the downtown sights and restaurants.

Great locationPosted 22-Jul-2014
Spent one night there with my fiancée and two kids. This was our second visit to this hotel and we were as impressed as the first time. The continental breakfast is amazing! Boiled eggs, fruit, cereal, hot oatmeal, nuts, granola, toast, muffins, juice, coffee, flavoured tea, yogurt, etc! Fantastic staff, clean hotel, comfortable beds, spacious rooms, great parking and service. Will be back.

room by the elevatorPosted 15-Jul-2014
we stayed on the top floor. The view was good, but our room was by the elevator, near the door to the roof top patio/ fitness room and the closet for the hotel staff to get linens and supplies. So there was a lot of traffic and noise. We could here everything. The sofa bed was terrible and the front dest wasn't knowledgeable about the area. they gave us a bad photo copy of the area with just names of streets, no street placement or attractions. Housekeeping was great and friendly.

Nice area, central to everythingPosted 15-Jul-2014
Pros: Roof top patio and hot tub are great features, though it would have been nice to be able to have a smoke outside on the patio, after all it is outside
Cons: a smoking section on the rooftop / lower parking rates
We booked a double room with a pull out sofa, but only got a double room with two beds, no sofa, this hotel claims to be suites but the room was very plain, not comfortable and very small. Also, we had a screaming baby in the room next to us, the rooms are not at all sound proof, of course this is to no fault of the hotel

5 days in HalifaxPosted 14-Jul-2014
Pros: It is a great location to explore the city when on foot. The room was lovely, the staff were very helpful and the midweek manager's reception was nice.
Cons: The bathroom fan was loud and the sound was not confined to the bathroom. The complimentary breakfast was good but not outstanding
Location: It is within walking distance of the waterfront, Spring Garden shopping, the Public Gardens, Dalhousie University, The Tattoo and the Halifax Citadel
We recently spent five days in Halifax visiting family and friends. We chose this part of the summer so we could see the Nova Scotia Military tattoo while in Halifax.

Great location and comfortPosted 9-Jul-2014
The room was far nicely appointed than I expected for the price. Front desk staff really friendly and helpful especially considering the busy tourist season. Continental breakfast had lots of variety. And the location is within walking distance of harbour, good restaurants, Citadel, etc. Highly recommend this hotel.

Canada Day Weekend 2014Posted 8-Jul-2014
Nice location with pleasant staff, the room was just what we were looking for. But as with all hotels, other guests don't know how to operate their doors at 0600 in the morning and forget to be quiet when getting in late at night. Other than that, it's a pleasant place to stay in Halifax as it's location is perfect to see the sights and sounds of the city.
