“Great hotel!”

We loved this hotel and would go back in a second. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and I've never had such a great complimentary breakfast (was a full breakfast - not just pastries). Not far from downtown Halifax and also extremely convenient access to the highways and airport. Clean, and comfortable beds. Highly reccommend it!

“New, Clean and Comfortable”

Enjoyed a wonderful stay at this hotel. The rooms are nice and new, a little on the small side, but the furnishings and comfort definitely makes up for it. The gym facilities are adequate, although the treadmills etc. are a little on the cheap side. Great games room and pool area as well. The restaurant is nice enough, and the lobby / lounge area is very comfortable and relaxing.

“Fantasic Halifax Hotel”

Myself and my guest were very pleased with our stay at Best Western Chocolate Lake. In my opinion it is the be hotel for it's low price in the area. Travelers should not be deterred by the low price; it feels like a hotel that would be much more expensive. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful; we asked for a late checkout and that was no problem with no extra cost. The facilities at the hotel are great. Very nice pool/hot tub area and fitness room. The patio area behind the hotel was beautiful, and although we couldn't really enjoy it because of the cold weather, the private beach was lovely. The room was great, modern and clean, and very relaxing. The hotel is not located downtown, but is a very short, inexpensive cab ride from downtown. It was nice to be separated from all the hustle and bustle, in fact. The only small complaint I would have was about the parking. We had a bit of a difficult time parking in the parking lot, because it was pretty full, but it was a Saturday evening and there was an event in the area on that particular weekend. All in all we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again.

“Amazing Hotel”

Employees were knowledgeable of the surrounding area and Halifax in general. They were able to direct me where I needed to go using public transportation. All of them were professional and accommodating. I'd give them six stars if allowed such a rating.

“Wonderful location”

Chocolate Lake is a beautiful little lake that is full of swimmers. The hotel overlooks the lake, and there is access to the lake for swimming. There are stores and restaurants within walking distance, and it is a quiet and easy to find location. Breakfast is not included in the price, but can be bought at the restaurant in the hotel and eaten on the patio overlooking the lake or inside. The food was good, but a bit pricey.

“Another reason to love Chocolate!”

My 2 teenage sons and I had a wonderful stay at your hotel while in town for a wedding. The staff were accommodating, friendly, professional and overall very pleasant. The rooms were clean and we had a beautiful view of Chocolate Lake. We spent at a day at the beach and also sipping coffee overlooking the water. We were also very happy to see a dog friendly hotel. As a dog owner, it was wonderful to see how inviting bringing our pet would have been. Next time, our pet will be sure to "wag" along! My teenage sons LOVED the salt water pool as I enjoyed the hot tub! The games room was also used but the main attraction for my kids were the pool and the computers in the lobby..... they just HAD to check their facebook and tell their friends all about our trip!!! My only constructive comment would be that I would have preferred more of a variety for breakfast. We were there for 5 nights and had almost the exact hot breakfast every morning. Maybe some french toast? Pancakes? Fruit salad? However, the breakfast that was served was good and filling. Thanks to the staff at Best Western for making our stay a nice and pleasant one!

“a relaxing location”

an easy drive to downtown, but isn't walking distance to anything if you're without a car. Room was quite comfortable, and very quiet. Internet access in the lobby an added convenience. I'd definitely stay there again.

“Great hotel for travelers and their dogs!!”

If you are traveling with dogs, this is the place to stay. It is very pet friendly and we had a great experience. We booked this hotel becasue it was pet friendly and we had two medium sized dogs with us. There is a grassy area in the back of the hotel right on the lake where you can walk your dogs. It also allows them space away from traffic. There are garbage bins with baggies attached if required. Area is very clean. The rooms we saw and stayed in were either newly renovated or they are kept in great shape. We had a king sized bed in a nice sized room. Flat screen TV. Very nice bathroom . The linen/duvet was excellent also. It had a very modern feel to the room. There is a pool and gym but we were not there long enough to use these. The dogs and ourselves were treated very well by staff. We all felt very welcome and would definitely go back again. It was a great location for us close to the highway but still close to anything downtown or Bayers lake.
