“History”
One of the coolest historic hotels in Colorado. Grand old style. Teddy Roosevelt made a speech from the balcony!
“very nice... love the antique”
Very nice, that is where I am going to stay everytime I am in Glenwood... Thank you
“Stay here!”
Great Hotel! Staff is friendly and very helpful. Restaurant and bar were very nice, good food (Really good breakfast) Beautiful room. Very comfy bed. only complaint, old hotel, old doors, so you could hear everything coming from the hallways. Definitley not a reason not to stay here though.
“Wonderful stay...we'll be back”
The hotel building is truly impressive, and the staff went all out with Christmas decorations making it a wonderland for kids. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms clean and nicely decorated. The new TV was nice. Across the street from the Glenwood Springs Hot Pool and Spa, and a block from downtown with restaurants, a great spot for a few days' vacation.
“Fit for a Queen”
What great customer service, no matter the time really. My two year old loved the holiday decorations.
“Location + charm + dog friendly +++ Love the Hotel Colorado.”
We loved this dog friendly hotel. It's not for hotel snobs who need cookie cutter modern hotel boxes, but for those who celebrate history restored thoughtfully. It's a fine old hotel sublimely located within walking distance to Glenwood Hot Springs, and all manner of restaurants and shops. Having the bike rental and rafting company in the building just rounds it all out. Didn't get a chance to eat in the restaurant or the Sunday Brunch but the menu looks fabulous! (We opted for Juicy Lucy's so we cld have steak bones for the hound.)
“Great hotel with rich history - we loved it !”
This was a very enjoyable stay. The hotel has much history, particularly with stays of past presidents including Teddy Roosevelt. The holiday decorations were beautiful although we were there before all were completed and missed seeing the outdoor lighting ceremony. Great service, friendly staff and very accommodating. We will likely make a return visit.
“Hotel Colorado”
Very charming and ageless hotel. Located in beautiful Glenwood Springs and across the road from the largest outdoor mineral pool in the world. Simply lovely.
“Beautiful, historic hotel”
What a grand old hotel! Pictures of historical figures who have stayed in the Hotel Colorado line the walls. Lovely antiques and fireplaces are scattered throughout the common areas. The only real complaint is that the plumbing appears to be antique as well. Hot water took about 10 minutes to reach the fourth floor. The hot springs pool was a quick walk across the street. Downtown was easily reached via a pedestrian bridge across the Colorado River.
“History and Character”
The Hotel Colorado is history in Glenwood Springs. Majestic in stature this hotel did not disappoint. We stayed on the 5th floor and were very happy with the appointments and the cleanliness of the room. The room was large and the bed was very comfortable. There was no hair dryer in the room, but a call to the front desk had one at our door within minutes. The restaurant and bar was cozy and the food was excellent. The lobby was decked out in magical holiday splendor and the two big fireplaces added to the ambiance. I recommend having a glass of wine, by the fire and taking in the lobby even if you are not staying at the hotel. An added benefit is the hot springs pool is across the street.
