A true gem indeed! What a wonderful hotel right in the heart of the old city! Close to everything, walking distance to pretty much every tourist attraction, museums, opera, piazzale Michelangelo etc! Beautiful, clean , extremely comfortable and absolutely wonderful staff! And did I mention that the hotel bar also has the best drinks in town! I would recommend this place without any reservations and of course I’d stay here again anytime!

Wow, this review is a really hard one for me… as much as I would love to say, how amazing this property is… I felt the service was lacking. When I arrived at the hotel the bellman greeted us, & took our bags… but no one was at the front desk. Which was extremely odd, for such a high end hotel. We wait for entirely too long for someone to get back to the front desk for us. There is beautiful bar to the right of the front desk, with no one there. If there would have at least been a bartender there, or if the bellmen would have given us a glass of wine, water, & or the WiFi code it wouldn’t have been so bad. My room however, was amazing, & even more beautiful than in the photos! The hotel has a beautiful rooftop terrace, with spectacular view of the city. We were pretty much alone up there. The welcome drinks, & Expedia VIP hotel bottle of Champagne was great! Plenty of shopping & restaurants outside the hotel as well! Breakfast was great! The bartender upstairs at the other bar was fantastic, & so friendly! Leaving the hotel we had to wait for an iron that never came, & longer than expected for a taxi. Once again a service issue! If they fix the service at this hotel, this property easily is a 10 out of 10!

WONDERFUL stay in April 2024. Eduardo (part of the family who owns the hotel) was so fun and helpful. This was the best place ion our entire 2 week tour of Italian cities. They will do anything to help you., Breakfast is included and was GREAT.

La Gemma is a beautiful property. The entire staff was professional, friendly, courteous and extremely helpful whether it was for transportation or restaurant recommendations or just directions. Breakfast is amazing and the staff top notch. The location is perfect for every adventure you are planning in Florence. I will definitely plan on staying here again next time in Florence.

Great location with accommodating and friendly staff. Room was beautiful and clean. The only downside was how warm it was at night. Fortunately, we were able to open the balcony door to let cool air in, but this caused mosquitos to enter and we were bitten. So overall, it could have been a more comfortable stay.

A GEM in Firenze !
Hotel La Gemma was a GEM ! It is located perfectly in the city center of Florence, staffed with smiling friendly people, and has spotless gorgeously appointed rooms. The restaurant serves delicious food in a city loaded with great places to eat. There is no doubt, if in Florence again, my wife and I will be staying at La Gemma!

During my recent trip to Florence, I had the pleasure of staying at an exceptional 5-star boutique hotel located in the heart of the city. The hotel had only been operating for about 5-6 months, but it felt like it had been there for years. The staff was extremely accommodating and responded promptly to any requests I had. The interior designer had done an impeccable job decorating the common areas and rooms. I had the opportunity to stay in both the "superior" room and the suite, both of which were decorated with excellent taste.

We were greeted with hot towels, complimentary cocktails, and a small sample plate from the hotel restaurant upon our arrival. The front desk staff was very welcoming, and gave us a tour of the hotel while another staff member brought our luggage up to our room. They were extremely helpful in answering any questions we had, and calling a taxi service for us when requested. We had a wonderful stay!

The team was incredibly kind and helpful for all of my travel needs, from arranging car transportation to recommendations for places to eat. The restaurant, Luca's, was incredible. This is a must stop if you want fine dining and excellent service. I asked for some wine pairings for the meal as well and was so delighted with the complimentary selection. The lounge and bar area, I wish I could have stayed hours in, and the bartender, Falco, created a custom gin cocktail for me that is one of the best drinks I've had in my travels, and Mac served up an amazing Prosecco when I arrived. The rooms were 5 star lux and you are just a street away from all the amazing shopping and the incredible sights of the area. Give them gem a shot if you can.

Centrally located walking distance to everything you need to see in a very nice part of Florence. The hotel itself is very well appointed with the most up to date amenities. The staff is excellent and provides the level of service that is barely in existence at most 5 star "chain" hotels these days. I am a person that favors the Four Seasons properties and I have come to learn that boutique gems "La Gemma" are the best finds. It lives up to its name.

What a find. Hotel La Gemma just opened in May 2023 and we are so glad to have found it. It’s located in the heart of the city. Minutes to all the major attractions - the Duomo, The Uffizi - and lots of the major piazzas. The decor is so cool - shades of green and gold with flowers and parrots with a summery art deco vibe. We got upgraded to a suite and the room was amazing. Separate living room room, bedroom, dressing room and bathroom. All soft drinks in the mini bar are free and the coffee machine in the room is better than coffee you get out on the street. Oh, and a free breakfast too! Omelets and pastries, meats and local cheeses. Previously on this trip we stayed at Il Pellicano and Borge San Felice, and I would say Hotel La Gemma felt in tune with those. We were thrilled to happen upon such a phenomenal place to stay on a quiet street in the center of Florence during high season. We will def be coming back!

My daughter and I stayed at La Gemma last week and it was absolutely incredible! Although the hotel is new, they are operating at a five star and there were no problems. They welcomed us and treated us with great respect and made sure everything was just perfect. Book it! I will come back.

We loved our stay. The staff is wonderful, the hotel is beautiful and much attention is paid to every detail to make your stay fabulous. It's centrally located and walking distance to everything. We will stay here again, for sure!
