Wake up in one of the most coveted neighborhoods on Martha's Vineyard when you stay at this four-bedroom Edgartown home, a lovely island retreat with a large grassy lawn and deck within walking distance of downtown.

This two-level home is situated on a quiet piece of property just half a mile from the center of Edgartown. It's also only half a mile from the Chappy Ferry to Chappaquiddick Island, one mile from Lighthouse and Fuller Street Beaches, three miles from Bend-in-the-Road Beach, and four miles from Katama Beach.

Walk inside to discover an elegant living space with hardwood floors, sun-lit window seats, and a gas-powered fireplace for cool island evenings. Return home from an afternoon on the beach to use the WiFi to check your email or curl up for a night of Netflix on the flatscreen cable TV.

Prepare fresh local seafood in the full kitchen and leave the dishwasher to handle the clean-up. You'll find seating for two at the breakfast bar, plenty of space around the eat-in kitchen table, as well as a gas grill and patio seating on the deck for al fresco lunches and dinners.

Kids will spend hours playing in the expansive yard, while parents will love having a private washer/dryer and an outdoor shower to keep the sand and salt at bay.

This four-bedroom, three-bathroom home will accommodate as many as eight people. You'll find a queen sleigh bed in the master suite, as well as a sitting area and a bathroom with a jet tub and a stall shower.

The second and third bedrooms have a king bed and a set of twin beds, respectively, while the fourth bedroom has an extra-large double bed (which can fit two people but is more ideal for one). Please be advised, however, that one of the guest rooms is an alcove-style room with a portable divider.

An epicenter of New England history and charm, Edgartown is a wonderful destination for beach-goers, island regulars, and first-time visitors alike. Spend your days on the three-mile stretch of sand at Katama Beach, take a short and scenic walk down to Lighthouse Beach, or hop on the Chappy Ferry to explore beautiful East Beach and the Cape Poge Wildlife Refuge.

The beauty of Martha's Vineyard will be just outside your door - book this fantastic Edgartown home today!

Excellent location and value
I booked this property for a last minute getaway to the Vineyard. After seeing what was available, I thought the price appeared reasonable, particuarly for a house walking distance to Edgartown. The property is exactly as described and the location is unbeatable. Also, the outdoor deck is wonderful. There are a few things that prevent me from giving it 5 stars - some of which I've shared directly with the owners, others I'll share here for review purposes (note: I give 5 stars to properties that provide a wonderful overall experience, not traditional "5 star properties"). The house feels a little tired. It's missing the character that I've loved with other rental properties: a welcome packet, a binder with recommendations, games, extras. This house is VERY basic. There were several bikes in the shed but all but one of them was in working condition. There was a gas firepit on the deck, but no gas :( Just a feeling with the house - nice, but not 5 star. Would I rent this house again? Probably, but not for an entire week. If you want a great value walking distance to Edgartown and don't care about those extras, I think this house would be perfect for you. Hope this is helpful.

Edgartown stay
This is my third time staying in Edgartown so I know what to expect in terms of housing. This house was large and roomy. We were able to spread out easily. There were lots of games to keep us entertained, bicycles, etc. We didn’t have a chance to use them due to time constraints. Our issues: the house needs to be professionally cleaned. I cleaned the kitchen myself. Wiping the kitchen counters and island, I pulled up dirt. A dirty sponge was left in the sink. The ice/water dispenser in the fridge leaked the entire time even though I reported it when we arrived. No one came to check it. I found hair in the master shower and the bed. I used my own sheets and towels as a result. The master bedroom is missing a couple of shades so there’s no sleeping late in there. I was up with the birds due to the brightness of the room. The home had a junk draw in the kitchen and there were personal effects throughout the home. There was even a diploma from Columbia in the upstairs guest room. It was odd. It made us feel as if the owner could walk in at any time. If this is a rental, there should be no personal items in my opinion. It would be nice if the kitchen was updated. It needs a new refrigerator, cabinet refacing and new countertops. Having grout lines where food will be is gross. Invest in a plain quartz if keeping the cabinets the same or butcher block if painting the cabinets. For the money we spent for only five days, I would have expected better.

Desperately needs a deep clean, maintenance and pest control
I've stayed at many Vrbo’s and this is the first time I felt inclined to leave a negative review. *I would highly recommend googling reviews of its management company Vacasa prior to booking this house. Pros: The deck and yard are awesome, the shed is stocked with outdoor gear, the home is spacious and beds comfortable. The house is close to lovely downtown Edgartown. Cons: The house is in need of a deep clean, updating, and fixing everywhere. They’ve let the house go and don’t take the time to fix any issues that are bound to arrive in a rental. I would describe the cleaning that was done as very rudimentary-there were various splatters, dust/dirt around the edges, dirty baseboards and ledges, filthy kitchen floor, dirty tiles/walls in bathroom, behind the toilet, in the kitchen etc. Some dishes in the kitchen were dirty and needed to be re-washed. To top this all off we found mouse droppings throughout the house. (To be fair Vacasa did offer to have pest control come out when we reported this, but it was our last full day there and we didn’t want the inconvenience of finding dead mice.) Half of the shades in the master bedroom are missing and are just covered by sheer curtains-the shade bracket is there but nothing is installed. Because of this we couldn't sleep in the master since the room would be illuminated at 5am sunrise. The towel rack in master bath fell completely off the wall (also reported in prior reviews and not fixed) and the shower leaks a puddle into the bathroom. The Smoke Detector is dangling by wires off the ceiling in one bedroom. The Kitchen has a funky smell as stated in prior posts, and it would be helpful to get a garbage can with lid. The grout is black and in desperate need of a cleaning/redo as well. They need to take time to fix things that are broken, lightbulbs that are out, drain in sink in master bath is slow, bloodstains (?) on bedspread, mirrors and drawers/handles/faucets broken. We shared many of these issues with Vacasa on the first day and they said they’d forward to the local team which I never heard from. They’re great at texting you pre-written “sincere apologies” but not good at actual remediation. I also tried to reach my local contact via email with a couple questions prior to our trip and never heard back. For the amount of money that this place is per night, the $350 cleaning fee and many other fees, I would expect much much more.

Perfect location
The walls need painting. Was hard to find the key and address on the building because it was dark. Should have had porch light on. AC not very adequate. Hot water heater not big enough for the bathtub they had. Jets in bathtub did not work.

Could use a deep clean
There was an old seafood smell in the kitchen that would not go away. I have seen others post about this and it was obviously not addressed. The grout on the tile counters in the kitchen is practically black. The bedspread in the master had what looked like blood or chocolate on it. We couldn’t use it and all the old mismatched blankets in the closet were questionable so we didn’t use them. The jets in the tub don’t work and the sprayer just trickles. Need replacing or a deep cleaning to descale it’s. The yard and deck were nice! She’d had bikes, boogie boards and beach chairs. Use them if you can get to them, needs organizing. Also the blinds in the master are broken. You have to hold them up in order to open/close the balcony door. Drapes are frayed and ripped. Master furniture needs cleaning or replacing. The chair was greasy looking on the arms and had a rip on the ottoman.

Pleasant stay in Edgartown
The house is charming overall. The living room and dining room are particularly nice. There is also a lovely private deck and yard and the neighborhood is quiet. It’s easy walking to the downtown of Edgartown. We found the kitchen facilities disappointing; The house was not stocked with any staples- no coffee, milk, oil, vinegar not even salt. It made cooking difficult and expensive. The bedrooms were fine, could use better pillows. But overall a really nice rental.

Great Location
Great rental in a great location with plenty of room. The only issue was a smell in the kitchen. Believe it was coming from the fridge. This should be looked into as it made the whole kitchen smell.
