“Nice change from the norm”
This hotel is very unique compared to chain hotels. The rooms are really impressive and our room was very nice. We were upgraded to a king with an in room whirlpool - at no charge. The indoor waterpark looked nice although we did not take advantage of it. We ate at the Aqua Lounge and the food was fast and very good. Large portions! We will definitely return for another stay!!

We would like to say this was a very clever and fun hotel. We reserved a standard room, but it was decorated very modern. The beds were very comfortable. On one end of the hotel is a water park, not as big as Wisconsin Dells but nice enough to enjoy. On the other end was a game/party room including an indoor race track. Very cool. There was a big game room with a climbing wall, bumber cars, and bowling. There is also an outside race track and minuture golf that we didn't take advantage of. We were only passing through but the kids wanted to stay there instead of moving on to our final destination. The morning breakfast was limited but very nice.
“Fun and creative!”
We had a great time at Metropolis. The pool and hot tub were not opened while we were there, which was unexpected, but we made due. We loved our room- so much character!!! The hallways were wide and warm with great decor throughout the entire hotel! We plan to meet our friends with kids in the summer to spend some time at the pool together! We would (and have) recommend this hotel to our friends.

“"Practically perfect in every way..."”
Not only are the room accommodations "five-star", the service is outstanding. The water park is well-supervised (though, in our opinion, it could be open a bit longer) and clean. The connected amusement park, Action City, is also clean, well-staffed and offers a significant discount to hotel guests. The only area that I feel could be improved is the hot continental breakfast area--it is quite small and some guests end up sitting in the lobby/reception area to eat. The conference facilities are great. The most noteworthy things to us are (1) cleanliness and (2) great guest service, which both have earned a 5-star rating from us!
“A great deal, fine room, wonderful breakfast, stay here!”
We decided to stay here after reading the very positive reviews. We checked in at 12:30 am on a very early Monday morning after letting them know we'd be late---and were immediately impressed. Well lit, new construction which was very contemporary without being garish, polite friendly staff. We dont stay often at motels and we spend as little as possible so we are used to the bare bones type of room, but we were very pleasantly surprised. Large room, nice beds, well decorated, even a free fridge that wasn't advertised as part of this deal for which we paid....well, it was very reasonable and one of the cheapest in the area. The free breakfast was excellent--scrambled eggs, biscuits n gravy, sausage, make your own waffles, 3 kinds of muffins, 2 kinds of juice, cereal, milk, coffee...and a free local paper at the main desk 30 feet away which the desk clerk made sure we knew about. Maybe during the weekend the place would be noisy because of the affiliated waterpark and gocart track nearby which would be great if you had kids, but on this Monday it was outstanding...quiet...with some business customers who seemed to appreciate the comforts available at a very reasonable price. Yes, stay here! If we are ever in the Eau Claire area again, we definitely will.
“Nice Hotel; Good Location”
The room was nicely laid out and clean. The hotel staff were courteous. The breakfast is set up in two areas with a lot of room to sit. There was a nice mix of food; cereals, breads, make your own waffles, omelets to order. If you have kids, there is a lot to do with the go kart tracks, games and indoor water park. Fairly close to the mall (driving; not walking).

“High Quality”
The hotel was beautiful, comfortable and the employees could not do more for you. The hotel is connected to a water park and game venue. We are seniors and were sans kids or grand kids, so we weren't interested in the games but would have used the water park (free with the stay). We were sorry to find out that it was closed for cleaning/upgrade (the desk at check-in hadn't mentioned this). We voiced our concern to a woman leaving the park site as we were going to look at it. She turned out to be the catering manager and could not have been nicer. She gave us several free drink and food vouchers to make up for it. We found the food to be excellent (the shrimp appetizer is HUGE). She also went out of her way to get information on six different restaurants in the area with directions, so we could also choose another to try. This is exactly the kind of excellent service you would hope for when an unexpected dilemma presents itself. We will definitely stay here again, and try the water park NEXT time!
