“This is the place to stay in Detroit!”
If you are visiting the Motor City, this is the place to stay! The rooms, hallways, and even the elevators are spotless, you have easy access to shops, a food court, pharmacy, and people mover without even leaving the building and the GM showroom in the lobby is a nice touch. This is my third stay at this hotel in the past year and it continues to impress me. If your are staying in Detroit and you want easy access to the COBO and other downtown destinations than this is the place to stay. And do yourself a favor and splurge for valet parking, the staff are wonderful!
“Great Deal!”
A great location with great access to the people mover!
“Wonderful experience!”
Friendly staff, gorgeous room, river view, food was excellent at Coach Insignia. Plenty to do. Rode the people mover.
“Great Place to Stay”
Nice rooms with a great view. Also enjoyed the food at the restaurant and bar. Tony was a great bartender. There wasn't much in the attached mall although the CVS was nice. Most stuff was closed for the weekend. Easy access to the people mover to get around town. There was a free concert right across the street. Also right on the boardwalk which is great. Would definitely go back.
“Great Hotel”
The staff was very helpful The hotel is beautiful
“Overall Good Experience”
Check-in started with a long line and only one person behind the desk. They did recover and put more people behind the desk and the wait was reasonable. There was another long line at the Cafe the next morning once again hotel personnel recovered and the wait was reasonable. The overall experience was good.
“Very nice stay”
Went to Detroit for Tigers game. Comerica Park within walking distance. No safety issues walking back from night game. Nice view of river and they had an outdoor concert near the hotel when we got back. Close parking was nice also.
“Location is great!”
Stayed here for a free Riverfront Concert right outside. Everyone was nice and helpful when lost - its a Big hotel!
“very nice hotel”
The only problem that I had with the hotel was that it was like a ghost town. There are many stores and places to see in the hotel/center but there wasn't anybody around, the entire building the practically empty and everything was closed.
“Marriott-Red wings hotel”
We went to the Marriot because it was close to the downtown and to Joe Louis Arena. It is literally 30 seconds over the border, once you cross you turn right and there it is. (From the tunnel) The hotel was Great. Huge, but great. Rooms were great, bed was super comfy, and room service was super quick and pretty tasty. The hotel is attached to the General Motors building, which was very beautiful and it had indoor access to "the Detroit People Mover" the people mover will take you right to Joe louis Arena , Comerica Park or many other places you need to . Only 50 cents. Free touch screen internet in the bar, costed for highspeed in our room.. kinda sucked.. but was quick and helped up get tickets to the game. Parking garage only cost us a little for 2 days, and is attached to the building so your walk to the lobby is all indoors. They will do valet parking for you for twice as much as it cost us to park. Super friendly staff, lots of help finding your way.. which you will need at first, but 5 star overall. Will gladly go back.. thanks Expedia!!
