"My family stayed at the Fonte del Benessere Resort for five nights. The hotel is excellent, and we would have awarded 5 stars but for the the really bad dinner we experienced. One night we decided to eat dinner in the dining room. The service was excellent however the food was genuinely bad. Bland pasta dishes, under cooked food. My daughter and I ordered a risotto dish with shrimp. The risotto was tasteless and covered with what we guessed was pureed frozen shrimp (really frozen). Really...

"This was quite a find - with such an interesting name, I just had to book a night there. It really is a jewel, it seems very new. We arrived early and had a splendid greeting. In view of our disability and difficulty walking, we were changed to a ground floor room which was spacious and seriously cool in the current heatwave. It feels like a farm with all the lovely hens and chicks around. Breakfast was ample and tasty. "

"My husband and I spent five wonderful days at Il Giardino del Rio and enjoyed every moment. The room was clean and comfortable and the location was perfect for short walks through Castel di Sangro, or for drives through the gorgeous Parco Nazionale d’Abruzzo and its scenic towns. The best thing about the inn, however? Proprietors Davide and Enzo, and Adnan. Each one made us feel like family. We already miss them!"

The staff, or friends as we now refer to them were amazing. Everything had to be just right and if it wasn’t they made sure it was. "As we were only passing though on our journey south this hotel suited our needs perfectly as it was close to the motorway and close to the port of San Salvo where there were plenty of restaurants. "Nice, modern hotel. Friendly staff. We were there in the winter. The very high heater pumped lots of warm air, loudly, into the top of the room, which didn't quite ever make it down to the bed where we were. We were able to get a very warm blanket from the front desk eventually, and got some sleep. I'm sure it's fine in the summer."
