“Great hotel for the money!”
Wonderful place to stay for the price. Clean and comfortable. Onsite restaurant was delicious and friendly. Sunday evening is their authentic Mexican barbecue. We highly recommend this barbecue.
“Great location”
A short cab ride from town, you can walk it if you wish. They seem to be constantly upgrading the accomodations. Several eating establishments close by, a beach bar across the street and a dive shop next door. My only complaint is that my last two stays, Feb & Mar 2007, the on site restaurant had cold coffee. It's not a top end resort, but the rooms are comfortable and the grounds well kept.
“Well worth the price”
The hotel is basically right on the water. There is a cute dive/ breadfast shop right next door and a very cute palapa bar across the street - perfect for tanning and they serve lunch, dinner, and drinks!
“Great quality especially for the price. Very clean & quaint.”
Great location if you have a car and/or like less touristy locations. It was very clean and had a botique feel as opposed to boring hotel room. The grounds are beautiful and we really enjoyed the iguanas. The staff was very friendly. The restaurant ambiance was nice and the food was acceptable. The only complaint is that free wifi was only available in the lobby and the signal was not strong.
“Always a pleasure”
This is our second visit to the Villablanca. Very low key and comfortable. It is far enough away from the downtown to be very quiet. If you're a diver there are at least three shops right onsite with a dock across the street. Staff is helpful and friendly. Aurtro, the manager at the restaurant is a real charmer. Can't wait for our next visit.
“great stay”
My wife and I had a wonderful week staying at the Villablanca in Cozumel.
“Great for the $”
A great overnight stay while diving....The restaurant is excellent….I will return...
“Great Low Key Hotel”
Our flight landed at 11 am and checking in early was not a problem at all! In 5 minutes, they had us in our room, with an upgrade because our standard room was not ready yet. the room was clean, beds were comfortable with clean sheets and fresh linens every day. Hotel staff was friendly and knowledgeable, we bugged them often to find interesting places to visit and see. They can help you plan your trips, however it was easier to go to the bigger resorts to do this as they can accomodate schedules immediately, staff at the hotel said they 'would look into it and let us know tomorrow...' We are planners, so we wanted our schedule to plan our whole stay! Otherwise, it is a nice service if you are not worried about scheduling. Great place to stay, good location, close to grocery and downtown...safe to walk from town at night if you want to catch the breeze instead of the taxi.Keep your eye on your cards when at bars, we did not get ours back and had to cancel it as it was used several times! Luckily we had brought enough cash that it was not a problem. Many of the local resorts have all inclusive day passes (breakfast, lunch and dinner + drinks- they are great and save you $. Most of all Have fun!
“Great Food”
The restuarant at the hotel is run by Arturo and Patricia and the food is wonderful. Not what I would call Mexican, but still very very tasty. There is an OXXO just outside the coumpound to the left that is convenient for convenience items, there is a grocery store about 15 min walk to the right (north), and another restuarant across the street from the hotel, but otherwise you are without attractions close by. The rooms are clean, not much water pressure or very good drainage in the shower/tub but the bed is pretty comfy. We walked to the pier area on more than one occasion for shopping and to go into the local part of town for real Mexican food at local prices. Also the snorkeling off the dock accross the street is great. I recommend getting the little phamphlet from the front desk area that has a rental place for 20% off, you can rent a scooter for 24 hrs for about $30 US, then go south along the coast to snorkel. Down near Punta Sur is a great Rastafarian resturant/bar on the sandy beach. There aren't too many sandy beaches, most of the coast is rocky or covered in shells.
