Nice rooms; Great food!
Nice clean rooms. Staff very friendly. Rooms had nice balconies. Beds were comfortable but room was hot. No air conditioning, no screens on windows - very large black flies. Food in restaurant was very good. Nice pizza oven! Breakfast was outstanding. Parking was a challenge but not insurmountable.

Despite a late arrival, the folks at zur Sonne opened their doors and hearts to us. They cooked us up a pizza and poured some wine. Best stay!

Great location in the mountains of south Tirol with easy access to highway near Bolzano. The on-site restaurant is great!

Property is not in a city. It’s pleasant to see mountains through your window, to hear river running. Also hotel has a very nice sauna complex.

cosy and enjoyable stay
Large spacious room with Mountain View. The room was cosy and had a large bathroom. Everything was clean and in good condition. The hotel had nice decorations and flowers which made it feel comfortable and warm. We had pizza and it was delicious. The breakfast was great. All in all a enjoyable stay and a great value for the money.

Beautiful place with large very clean rooms. We stayed here two nights and ate here one. Food was delicious wine was good. Loved the gecko and birds. Staff was very nice

Great service, delicious food; clean and modern rooms. Hotel can be difficult to find, however, as long as you know that you go through several tunnels up the hill for about 5km, then you know you are going the right way.

Old-fashioned, a little threadbare
Serviceable but slightly timeworn guesthouse by the side of the road. The best part was the food as the restaurant was quite nice and the waiter very pleasant. The breakfast was good. The hotel premises seemed a little worn, and the rooms seemed a little musty and damp. There is scaffolding all over one side so you can't see out. Check-in was a little slow and the hotel staff didn't seem to care much.

like a dream
We spent 3 days in the dolomite area. We stayed in 3 to 4 star hotels. This hotel ranks the highest in terms of breakfast buffet. They are generous. High quality pastries, cold meats, juices, coffee and mile etc etc. None of the other hotels that we paid more could match it for the food. Nice clean rooms. You smell the mountain air and hear the streams nearby.

Nice Hotel near Bozen
Great location, yet close to Bozen. Renovated guest rooms and restaurants are all fresh and clean. However the renovation was still going on and was quite noisy. Also the insect spraying outside.

nice secluded hotel w views slightly hard to find
fine, economical, good breakfast, beatiful view from balcony. the only issue was the location. google maps shows 4 km from bolzano which isn't true. plus there's a detour. you need to phone the hotel for the real directions. google maps won't get you there. it's probably over 10 km from bolzano.

Wonderful find near Bolzano
What a wonderful find. This is a smallish hotel located a bit off the beaten track on the side of a deep wooded valley. It has an excellent restaurant with a large terrace where you can dine in the sunshine. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. One difficulty is that Satnav devices have difficulty finding the hotel. Ours took us to the wrong village even, but it was worth the minor inconvenience. If I'd known more we would have stayed longer.

Wonderful place but difficult to find even with gps. Go through the tunnel! Great food. Drive further up the mountain for some amazing views of the Dolomites.

The most friendly and helpful staff in Italy
We happened to stay on a day that was a regional holiday. We had scheduled to pick up a rental car but the office wasn't open and the buses weren't running a regular schedule to pick up the car. The staff made a call, found someone to go to the office, and drove me six miles into Bozano to pick up the car (no charge). This allowed us to fully enjoy our one day in the Dolomites with the help of further tips and insights about the region and activities. The hotel is new and immaculately kept. The restaurant serves on a covered or open terrace with a beautiful view and the sound of the river in the background. The number of diners far exceeds the number of guests, drawing many local customers with a hybrid Italian-German menu befitting the South Tyrol Region.

The hotel wasn't too bad, but it had a list of minor niggles. Some examples: there was a pudding in the vegetarian section of the dinner menu which one of us accidentally ordered. When we sat down for dinner we were moved because we weren't half board even though there was no reserved sign on the table or anything to make that clear before we sat down. We booked a triple room with three single beds and got a room with a double bed and two single duvets. None of which on its own was that bad, but overall left a fairly bad impression I'm afraid. On the plus side it was fairly close to Bolzano, it had an amazing view, the rooms were clean and the breakfast was good.

The hotel is newly renovated and very nice. The biggest problem was finding it. It's a little out of the way and the Tom-Tom rented with the car couldn't find it. After asking directions a couple of times we found it. Once there we really enjoyed it and wished we could stay longer.

Great hotel for any occasion!
Had an amazing stay here. The rooms were first rate and the staff was very kind and helpful. Also, it was very easy to get to from Bolzano. Very relaxing opening the windows at night to the sound of a rushing river and the spa was first rate. We had to leave early and the man at the front desk even woke up at 3am at his own home to call a cab for us as we could not reserve one the night before and could not speak Italian to call one ourselves. I highly recommend staying here. Justin and Simone.

L'hotel è situato sulla SS241 da dove si può raggiungere facilmente Bolzano ed altri paesini circostanti, tra cui il comune di Nova Levante dove c'è il Lago di Carezza. Nel costo del pernottamento è compresa una mini spa con sauna docce e zona relax. La colazione è molto variegata. Per la cena consiglio i piatti tipici locali. Hanno anche un'ampia scelta di pizze ma io non ho mai provato. È tutto molto pulito, accogliente e il personale è disponibile per cercare di soddisfare ogni richiesta.

Très bon accueil. Très pratique le restaurant sur place avec 2 salles aux décorations différentes . Excellent rapport qualité/prix tant pour la chambre que pour le restaurant. Ai mis seulement bien à la rubrique propreté car sur le balcon, un cendrier plein de mégots de cigarettes n’avait pas été vidé avant notre arrivée. Sinon propreté de la chambre irréprochable.
