My husband and I live locally, but we booked here as a special treat to celebrate our anniversary. We chose this hotel because 1: pool 2:across from Playhouse Square 3:room service. We arrived planning to swim and then shower and get ready for the show. Instead, we waited for hours to get checked in because the system was down. We asked if we could at least use a room to get ready for our big night out and were told to change in the public restroom. So instead of getting ready in luxury or in the comfort of home, we had to change in a dirty public bathroom. While it wasn't the staff's fault that the system was down, they could have done a better job of finding a solution to all of us waiting in line, and focused on trying to make it a better experience rather than complaining that everyone was blaming them. When we could finally check in they gave us coupons for the breakfast buffet, which was something, but we were planning on room service.
In the morning we called down for room service, and we were told that there wasn't any that day since they were doing the buffet. Nothing on the listing indicates that room service is only certain days.
Since we hadn't gotten to swim the day before due to waiting in line for hours, we asked for a late check out. Initially we were told yes, then called back and told no. So 2 of the 3 reasons we booked here were a failure. We would have been better off staying at home. They made our anniversary worse. Disappointment and waste of money.
