An OK stay
It was, as the title says, an OK stay. When we got to the Marine Hotel, we almost missed if as if didnt look like the photo we'd seen on the Hotels.com site, a lot of the lettering was missing from the front of the building. Inside was dark by reception. The staff were helpfull & friendly but the building & room needs a lot doing to it. We arrived just afted 5pm, needing to dry out & warm up (due to the heavy rain we'd been out in whist we were exploring)...sadly this had to wait as there was no heating or hot water when we arrived. I went to reception & the lady there went to check the boiler straight away & returned to say we'd have hot water & heating in about half an hour, which we did. The room was very dated and wasn't cleaned well or checked before our arrival, there was black mould around the bath (silicone), paint flaking on all door frames/skirting, there was also huge cobwebs & lots of dust. We were travelling with our dog, so do aften get the 'not as plush' rooms but we really dont think that what we paid reflected what we actually received. An OK stay but disappointing.

The hotel is filthy. There is mold growing all over the bathroom, there are holes in the walls, wallpaper peeling, broken closets, and dirty carpeting. There is a disco at night in the bar that we could hear through the walls until 2:30am. We demanded a refund which the owner agreed to and then charged us anyway and refused to honor his agreement. The area is rundown and the picture of the view is not what you get. There are industrial buildings along the waterfront directly in front of the hotel. This place is a dump.

The hotel is very run down and tired , would be ok for a workman looking for somewhere to sleep for the night , the MARINE HOTEL sign has 6 of the letters missing, be better to just take the rest of the letters down . Dinner was good and staff were nice but hotel is worst I’ve ever been in

Nothing, it was one of the worst places i have been. The room was dirty, the staff were impertinent and rude at the end. The woman took a card transaction on my card at the end before telling me, which is wrong. Hotel doesn't make it clear about breakfast and there was very poor selection of cereal,no fruit and lift was even out of order. Wouldn't recommend to anybody and

This hotel was very poor. Shower screen hanging off - worried it would fall off during shower. Completely run down. Dirty windows and mirrors - looked like splatters of stuff on the mirror. Mouldy walls

No hot water in the room the day I arrived. Figured that maybe it had just been a busy day and since I was up very early (6am) the following morning it would be fine then. Alas, no; no hot water from any tap. Not great when I had a full day on the road.

A big hotel with a great (slightly industrial) sea view. A short wait at the unmanned reception desk to book in. You have to preorder breakfast if you want it. A good deal for the full breakfast, less so for the breakfast roll. The hotel didn't tell us that they did evening meals. Eventually we did dine in and were very glad that we did. A good selection and reasonable pricing. When we came down for breakfast, there was nothing to tell us where we were to be served so we had to explore a little. Breakfast was lovely.

We were greeted well then got in the lift which smelt like it had just been pulled from the sea. When we got in our deluxe room there was little to be happy about there was wind blowing in the old poorly fitted windows and a mattress what had every spring pushing through very uncomfortable. We made the decision to leave at com g to leave there was nobody on reception at 8.30 in the morning so just left the keys on the side and left

Needs a makeover - AND HOT WATER
The hotel is tired and needs some TLC. Its location is opposite the fish processing companies, and so while being on the harbour, it is not a tourist location. Staff were good and the breakfast was splendid. Poor maintenance and cleanliness brings it down. Also there was no hot water in the morning for a shower - and two desperate pieces of used soap

Hotel was clean but very very dated. The bathroom had mould/damp on wall and the shower head was also covered in mould. The bedding and towels were clean and fresh no complaints there. Staff were attentive and food was superb. Just disappointed in the condition of the hotel as could be a lovely place.

Hotel was clean staff were very friendly . However hotel needs a lot of updating very tired looking We had a front facing room was lovely but unfortunately was next to fish factory where work started about 5am so was very noisy voices horns and hooters going off

A very pleasant surprise x
Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. My room was very clean and there was a bath, a pleasant change to endless showers. Had my eve meal in the restaurant, highly recommend the baked Salmon. It arrives in a tin foil parcel so definitely not microwaved. Followed by Icecream and all washed down with a pleasant house white. X
