“A Real Find”

This hotel is conveniently located in downtown Boston and it was a fraction of the price of other hotels I checked in the area. The staff were friendly and helpful. The business centre was free, so it was easy to check emails and print off my boarding pass. Though the hotel seemed to have plenty of guests, I found it very peaceful and quiet. The rooms could do with a little upgrading, but if that means hiking the price, I'll take it as it is!

“I would stay here again!”

Great Location in Boston, at a reasonable price. Don't expect the Ritz and you'll be happy.

“convenient but nothing fancy”

This hotel was conveniently located in downtown Boston. The room was small but tidy. We were in Boston on a vacation rather than for a conference and occasionally found the continental breakfast closed rather early.

“Boston Traveller”

We stayed at this hotel in February, it was a great budget hotel. I hope there will be renovations planned in the near future - the bathroom really needs to be redone - the tub especially needs to be replaced. The hotel is in a great location, close to transit, shopping, and we had a nice room overlooking Stuart St. The staff at the front desk were very nice, however, the card that was to indicate whether or not we wanted clean sheets was ignored by the cleaning staff. The continental breakfast was terrific, nice selection of bagels, cereal and fruit.

“Winter Classic 2010”

The hotel is in a GREAT location with easy access to transit. The hotel staff was Super friendly and helpful. The only downfalls were the Cont. breakfast didn't stay open late enough and every time our room got cleaned they forgot to replenish something. Sometimes we didn't have enough towells the next day, no cups and I had to go get my own tea & coffee from the breakfast room because they didn't give us any more.

“Great Location ! Comfortable, Clean and Safe on a Budget !”

If you are travelling on a budget, you'd be pressed to find a better hotel that is as clean, comfortable and safe as this one. It is located right in the heart of Boston so you can park your car and walk everywhere. The T line is just around the corner which we found to be a fast, efficient way to hit the museums and cultural sites. We'll be back !!

“Fine for a few days.”

The room was fine. The bed was reasonably comfortable. It was just a place to sleep for the most part. Since the hotel is old there were parts of the bathroom that looked like they could use a better scrubbing but otherwise I was fine with the hotel. The location was the most important thing about it.

“Great location !”

If you need cheap place, just to sleep over with excellent location it's great, but don't expect miracles. For the "decent" hotel you will have to pay more. I've got very good discounted price thru Expedia with breakfast included, and garage was "only" 40 $ for 2 days, otherwise it will be over 80 $ in a public garage attached to the hotel. Easy access to and from Pike highway and everything is at walking distance.

“Want the hostel experience? It's not good, and not that cheap”

Well, I have to disagree with most of the posts. They seem to feel the price outweighs the crumbling rooms, shaking elevator, and prison-inspired bathrooms. The overall state of the facility is not surprising, given that this hotel is run by a large company that provides food and residence services to universities and other penal institutions. We stayed during May, and the discounted rate was only marginally cheaper than much nicer hotels. The continental breakfast was poorly equipped, never restocked, and only ran until 9:30. The first room we were given had 1 lamp that didn't work, and the 2 bedside lamps had been unplugged--likely because they had exposed electrical prongs. As others have mentioned, the walls are heavily scarred, and doors are controlled by a seemingly unsecure punch card system, and the bathroom features stainless steel surfaces, fluorescent lights and golden tiles on the walls, floor, and, surprisingly, ceiling. On the plus side, the staff did give us a second room (the bedside lamp there also didn't work properly), the beds seemed to be clean, and the hotel was not noisy. All in all, the place is okay, but the condition of the the electricals is worrying. While I agree that it is Boston that you are there to visit, we were expecting a much nicer place for the money and the star rating. If you liked residence, or the hostel experience, stay here. If you want a hotel, go somewhere else.
