I’ve stayed twice at this hotel, and both times the clean, contemporary rooms and pleasant, oasis-like atmosphere of the hotel struck me most. It was very quiet on our stay last Thursday.
The staff and lobby have all the basics, there is a very nice pool, and a hot tub too, although the hot tub is tucked away in a separate small, enclosed area lined with tall shrubs - hiding it from the pool area. This wouldn’t be ideal if you were there with kids and wanted to use both at the same time (kids in the pool, adults in the hot tub) since there’s no line of sight.
But that’s it for caveats - otherwise it’s a quiet, pretty, well-maintained hotel, and in an area full of the stark beauty of the desert. Plus, five minutes or less to the small downtown, where there are restaurants, stores, the visitor center and gallery etc. Eating at Red Ocotillo there was a real treat.
