"Special Mountains guesthouse in the Blue Mountains"
We used to visit Parklands over the years, usually with our 2 daughters in tow but occasionally as a couples get away. We wanted to visit the Blue Mountains as we had an overseas guest, and a function in Katoomba the following day. Parklands was always good but since the latest refurbishment and addition of a restaurant on Fridays and Saturdays as well as every day for breakfast, it is a real joy. The Restaurant is very good and the chef uses fresh vegetables from their own garden on site. It is set in its own exquisite grounds as well as being minutes away from Govetts Leap lookout in Blackheath. It also has Spa treatments but I didn't use them on this visit.

"The greatest hotel experience in my life."
After staying in hotels for 50% of my life, I rate this hotel as the grearest experience of any hotel in the world. The drive from Sydney can be punctuated with stops at wonderful villages in the Blue Mountains. That drive culminates in the beauty of the Wolgan Valley. The suites can only be descibed as superb. The food is well prepared and professionally served and the activities are interesting and varied. I am now planning my next visit.

My daughter and I stayed at the Carrington and it was a marvelous return to the golden age of lodging. Great blues & jazz from the fifties, a fire in the lounge, beautiful old architecture. A really nice place to hang out.

"AMAZING VALUE"
This was the 3rd time we've stayed at the Waldorf Leura Gardens Resort and we will certainly continue to visit. For a mere $107 per night, you get a comfortable room, hot breakfast each morning, DVD hire, access to a heated pool, squash court and library, and not to mention the beautiful heritage listed gardens with fish in their ponds that I always get excited about. The only criticism I have is that breakfast definitely needs more "kid friendly" options (we're a young couple without kids but I really love my chocolate croissants and coco pops in the morning - please don't judge me). And perhaps growing the already great collection of DVDs would be great too but these are both very minor criticisms. Aside from that, I honestly would not hesitate to recommend this place! Its a short drive from Sydney and the perfect little romantic getaway destination for those who love exploring the blue mountains and doing 3 hours trekking trips to hidden waterfalls and lookouts. Definitely ideal for young couples with a sense of adventure and an appreciation for the country.
