“Nice place for a family vacation”
I spent 5 days at the Hilton with my wife and kids in April. It's a beautiful new facility, ideally situated on Needham's Point, with great views of sunrises and sunsets over the water. The food is very good, especially the breakfast buffet, and there are many interesting restaurants nearby to provide variety from the hotel fare. No complaints regarding the service. The staff is friendly and efficient. Being from the States, we enjoyed the international diversity of guests at the hotel. We met many more Europeans than Americans during our stay there. My family enjoyed the pool and beach so much that we didn't get out and about on the island as we had planned. We did enjoy the body surfing which is surprisingly good right in front of the hotel. We also liked the snorkling over the wrecks in Carlisle Bay, arranged by the dive shop in the hotel's car park. (I wanted to snorkle over coral heads, but you have to travel to the west side of the island for that... next time I guess!)
“Wonderful Barbados Experience”
Just returned from a 5 day stay at the Barbados Hilton. Have to say, it was a great vacation. The hotel is brand new, very clean and in a wonderful location. The staff and everyone we came in contact with was very friendly and helpful. The beach and pool areas are gorgeous as well. Our room, which was a standard king room, had a great beach/ocean view & balcony. The location is a bit windy and the food was definitely pricey, but other than that, it was a great experience and we would definitely stay here again. Didn't seem to be too crowded, even over a weekend stay, and there were equal amounts of families w/ kids vs. couples. Just make sure to get out by 9:30/10ish to claim an umbrella since those get taken pretty quickly.
“Beatiful hotel with stunning view of the ocean and deep blue water.”
Stunning view, nice buffet in the morning, and loved the seafood buffet. Concierge very helpful in arranging excursions. Beach is great with strong waves. Staff were courteous.
“Will definitely stay there again!!”
Everything was great! Very helpful staff. Clean. Organized. No problems.
“Fantastic”
This hotel was top notch. Fantastic panoramic view of the ocean and bay. Close to St. Lawrence Gap. We came here expecting bad food and expensive prices, but were pleasantly surprised. If you stick with the island specialties you will be pleasantly surprised. We are not fish eaters but ended up seeking it out daily because it was so delicious and fresh. Brown Sugar is a must during their Monday buffet. Oisten's Fish Market was delectable. McBride's also a great place to eat. I do not have one complaint for this hotel or vacation, and I can't wait to come back. We are American and somewhat surprised at the lack of American tourism, but so very happy that we found this wonderful island. We will be back....
“Very impressed and a beautiful Resort.Loved it”
The Hiton Barbados is absolutly beautiful and better than expected. All staff are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The view from our room of Carlisle Bay and Bridgetown was very nice. The resteraurants and food are very good. The pool and beach are fantastic. The room we had was on the fifth floor and had a king size bed.The bed was comfortable and wonderful and the room was very very nice. The views from this hotel are beautiful. The Hiton offers for a fee a Beach BBQ at night which we would recommend people opting to do this. It was a wonderful night of sitting on the beach @tables, entertainment and food was again better than expected. The Hiton is a very comfortable resort and just beautiful. We do not have anything negative to say about the Hiton. We would recommend the Hiton and we hope to be back soon to the Hiton and Barbados.Loved the island, the people and the natural beauty. Also try a BBC at the Hitons Waters Edge.
“wonderful holiday”
The most memorable aspects of this holiday are: The setting of the hotel- beautifully located on a headland with views of the sea from almost every angle, the lobby area and restaurant are open to the elements and constantly have "natural air-conditioning" wafting through.you can get into Bridgetown easily and cheaply with a short walk to the top of the road for the local bus. The views - impressive and so relaxing to gaze out from your balcony at the bay. The friendliness of the hotel staff- the staff are there to please the customer, they are chatty and will have long conversations letting you know all sorts of aspect of life on their wonderful island. They are polite without being ingratiating and the jewels of this hotel. The only slight negatives are the price of breakfast- expensive, try to get a breakfast package, and the attitude of some staff at the Barbados Blue Dive centre, which is somehow associated with the hotel yet does not reflect the Hilton attitude towards its customers.
“What I Expected”
It is a nice hotel in a good location. The pool area is great. I like the beach too since there are two sides to the beach. One side has big waves and the other side is more calm. There were unbrellas at the beach area so you didn't have to lay in the sun the whole time. It was close to the gap area where there are lots of restaurants. There are buffets dinners on the weekend. The a la carte menu doesn't have a lot of choices, which is the only thing I have to complain about. Other than that, it is a great big hotel with alots of amenities. I will stay here again the next time I visit.
“Surprisingly nice hotel...”
It is a typical large American resort but they do have a very nice beach and convenient location (close to St. Lawrence's Gap, popular party and restaurant street). Rooms are large, comfortable, and have a balcony with a view. On our first stop in Barbados we tried one of the older, higher rated resorts, and now wish we hadn't. The only drawback I see with this hotel is that it would probably be very crowded during peak season.
“Very Impressed”
I have one complaint. When we arrived we were not given the room we specified (smoking/ocean front). However after we made it known to the front desk, we were immediately moved to the room of our choice.
