“Great hotel in the middle of everything.”
First of all, I've been to various hotels in NYC and the room size we had here isn't out of the norm, so we had no better expectations than the size of this room. There's just enough room to walk (or side step) around the bed and desk to move throughout the room. Not a big deal at all! The room was only a place to sleep for our stay. The main comfort issue we had was that the temperature in the room was very high and uncomfortable upon our initial entry (2 am). We opened the window and turned on the A/C for the duration of our stay to get to a comfortable temperature. In speaking with other guests, they had the same problem. After leaving the A/C on all night and the next day, the room was comfortable upon our return to nap and later sleep. The location was great as I picked the hotel based on what activities we were going to be involved in. Price was a little steep, but it was Christmas time in NYC! Again, not a big deal because I understood what we were getting into. Even if you're just winging it on a trip to NYC, this would be a great location to stay. Subways are close, Times Square is close and has more options for subways, and being just around the corner from 8th Avenue means buses and taxis are readily available should you decide to get around that way (we did!) All the taxis we were in took credit cards. We'll definitely look into using this hotel again as we try to get to NYC at least once a year, and usually are there with no specific plans.
“Pleasantly surprised”
The hotel was better that it was represented online. The room was larger than I expected, immaculate and lovely, and even this fussy pillow critic felt the pillows were fab. The service was excellent, the staff friendly and accommodating, and lobby coffee yummy and available at 4:15 am. I am hoping that AvonWalk NY opening ceremonies next year will be convenient to this EconoLodge. I would be very happy to stay here again.
“Sajin Chacko - Time Square NY visit”
It was a fantastic stay at Econo Lodge. The rooms were neat and clean and well organized. The breakfast was also good and fine. Also the main advantage of the hotel was that its pretty near to time square. Econo lodge is the best for a budgetary accomodation
“Great for the price”
Rooms are very small, but it's 1 block from Time Square and very clean. Shower pressure was great also. For a 1 or 2 night stay, I would stay again.
“A great hotel in the heart of Manhattan”
The Econo Lodge Times Square is a great little hotel as it's a stone's throw away from Times Square and Broadway, and all the theatres. It's a great place to stay to explore the city easily as you're right in the centre of Manhattan. Although the room was small, it was comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. The free breakfast is good, there's 24 hour tea and coffee and the staff are friendly. Would definitely recommend it.
“Definitely recommended!”
We couldn't have been happier with the hotel. The room was small but clean and comfortable. The bathroom was bigger than other hotels in the area we've stayed in and the water pressure was amazing. If you are sharing a room with someone you don't know well it might be a tight squeeze but we were fine. Really close to the subway. No complaints at all.
“Cheap & Cheerful”
Although the rooms are small there is a continental breakfast available and hot drinks 24/7. The staff are friendly, helpfull and willing to advise on things to do, places to go etc. Great location and the ideal place for the not so well heeled in the city that NEVER sleeps!
“A great place for a busy tourist!”
The Econolodge in Times Square was perfect for me! I was traveling without my family, so I only needed the necessities. The room was small, the bed takes up most of the room, but who cares? I needed a clean room...got it! I needed a comfortable bed...got it! I needed a clean bathroom...got it! An iron and ironing board, ice machine, and continental breakfasts...got them! Nobody spends time in the hotel when there is so much to be done!!! There was a drug store 15 feet away! A touristy shop around the corner, Times Square TKTS booth three blocks away, and a great restaurants, cafes, and delis in every direction. The staff was friendly, helpful, and prompt. Sent me in the right direction, kept my luggage for me on my last day, and were just super to work with. One safety measure they took that I really appreciated, was that they had to re-key your card each day. There was no worry that others could get into my room and that I was who I said I was. I liked that! I would recommend this hotel for anyone traveling alone or as a close couple! I would happily return there on my next trip to the city!
“Centrally located and cozy”
Rooms were small, but clean and comfortable. Reminded us of a college "dorm" room. The staff were helpful and very pleasant. Very close to Time Square and the Theater District. Had a very nice "city street" view. Just plain fun !!!
“Small but very well located -”
The hotel is very close to Times Square and the theatre district, on foot less than a minute to both. It's clean and tidy and our room was bigger than expected and served us well although the decor is slightly dated. The hotel staff were very friendly and always helpful. Breafast in the lobby was ok as long as you didn't expect to sit down. Free tea & coffee was always in the lobby 24hrs. It's quite noisy at night outside but this is the city that never sleeps! The worst thing about this hotel is the lift, very very slow. Overall good value for money, very well located, would stay again.
