best beef tenderloin steak I ever had at the Ash restaurant. Charming after hours speak easy type place at the end of the building. Had a stellar Manhattan at a cafe table in the alley.

The decor was eclectic and unique. It was dark and sexy if that's what you're going for. The beds were comfortable and the shower was hot-always a plus. Oh, and the front desk staff was very nice and helpful.

It is a beautiful hotel in a historic building in the middle of Mount Vernon. The front desk and cleaning staff are very friendly and helpful. The area is safe and walkable with plenty of restaurants. The rooms are also beautiful and have a unique charm.

The hotel decor is creative, whimsical and quite lovely The Ash Bar/restaurant is unique - harkens back to the 30's art deco - could imagine Humphrey Bogart in Casablanca. We had a great pre dinner complimentary drinks with oysters - great service. Brunch there the next day was also really good. Unfortunately, we have to give a mixed review. The room, althoughtastefully appointed was really small - no confortable chair to sit in - no real place to store clothes other than a cabinet with one shelf - the lighting was inadequate for reading - it was dissapointing not tohave coffee availabe the next morning til 9AM (So I went to Starbucks) I'll say though, the staff ws quite friendly and eager to please. I'd probably come back if I knew they would provide morning coffee and that I'd have a better choice of rooms with bedside reading lights.

It was a special hotel filled with lots of characters and old world feel. The bed was clean and comfortable. The only thing was the temperature control in my room was not working so I had to ask the front desk to control the temperature. I would’ve preferred the temperature to be warmer but it was keep defaulting back to cooling when it reaches the desired temperature. Othe than that, I liked the friendly service and the restaurant. The food and service was excellent!

I loved this hotel! My husband and I did an east coast trip by train and we got there at night. We were able to walk from the station to the hotel no problem. The hotel itself is so beautiful. The decor really was incredible down to every detail. The staff was so kind and helpful as well. They also have bars in the lobby area. We went to Blooms on Tuesday night for the jazz band which was so great. I had espresso martinis and they were delicious. I loved everything about our stay! I’m a big fan of boutique hotels and Hotel Ulysses just went to the top of my list.

I liked that the hotel has a real point of view and vibe. It's very unique and much less cookie-cutter than some. The bath products were very strong smelling and I would have liked a milder alternative.
