My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the hotel with very few issues. The toilet in our suite did not flush properly. With only a couple of pieces of toilet paper, and no solid waste, it would take often times three flushes to get the toilet paper to go down. If there was solid human waste, it was at least six. This is not an exaggeration. The rest of the room, both visually and functionally was excellent. We would not hesitate to stay in the same hotel, and the same room provided. The flush issue were corrected. The view from our room was also lovely, peering down over sixth Street. There was a bunch of trash right outside the hotel, but it was very cold during our stay, so I’m sure the employees did not want to venture outside, unless absolutely necessary. There were also homeless people sleeping on the same block as the hotel, however that is much more indictment on our society than it is the responsibility of the hotel. The grits they serve in the morning were by far the best I’ve ever had in my entire life. I would go back again just for the grits. That isn’t hyperbole. The real highlight of the hotel stay was the fact that the entire hotel desk, staff and concierge were lovely and helpful.
