This is a gem in a middle of a great little Nova Scotia town that need a little bit of a face lift. Breakfast and staffs were great but the room was sub par.
The beds are very comfortable. The bathrooms in the 2 different rooms we had are needing a refresh. The people are friendly. We enjoyed the food at the restaurant in the hotel; it seems to be a popular spot with the locals too so the parking lot was sometimes very full. A busy town by day & quiet at night.
We came with our daughter to tour St. Francis-Xavier University. The Maritime Inn is a short walk to campus and was welcoming, clean and cozy (after the epic snowstorm). Wonderful accommodation in lovely Antigonish. I highly recommend it.
overall it was fine, room was clean. Carpets in lobby and hallway is old and dirty. The bed/mattress was very soft but mostly lopsided (sunken on one side).

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Great job. The property could use some updated and new infrastructure… etc like shower rods were rusted and doors had big chunks of paint missing. But I’m going to give them huge props for every other facet of the property. Well managed and the people are awesome. The food was good and the bed was amazing and clean. Thank you I would come come back even with the rough edges
A perfect location to explore Antigonish, the Maritime Inn offers clean, affordable rooms alongside excellent service and a high quality in house restaurant. The Inn is quiet, and located near various shopping and dining options. There is no pool or gym or many amenities, but that doesn't take away from the Inn's charm.
Staff were friendly and professional. Room was clean and comfortable. Love the convenience of the restaurant and the food was delicious. Breakfast was included and you got to choose off the menu! Loved our staff.
The hotel is not well kept and is actually depressing. The price is excessive for what you get. We did not enjoy our stay at this property at all. I believe the pictures were very deceiving.
While the staff was very friendly, our room was not clean. The bathroom had hair all over the floor, tub, and shower curtain. We should have asked to switch rooms but were simply too tired after our drive. Not sure I would stay again. On a positive the front desk staff and waitresses in the restaurant were very friendly and helpful.
Unfortunately our room had many mosquitos and flies in it (dozens and dozens) and judging by the marks on the roof and walls we were not the first guests to have the issue. We also had an earwig in the bath. Once you find that many bugs in a hotel room your mind sort of runs with it and it's impossible to relax. We weren't sure what trying to switch rooms would achieve.
The bottom floor is made up of motel rooms and we didn't know this property had external rooms. We don't usually go for motels. The bugs must have come in from outside through the door or window.
The bed was not comfortable. It had a very grooved mattress pad. The pillows were strangely folded in half in the case. I've never seen that before.
The attached restaurant was good but it had fly issues too. Lots around at both dinner and breakfast and we weren't the only ones noticing.
The food was excellent and the staff were very nice. The beds were great and the room was very spacious. All and all, it was a great stay. The complimentary breakfast was one of the best we have ever had.
I like that it is close to the University, which our daughter attends. The rooms are always clean, the beds are comfortable, the staff always great and the food is always delicious
