“disappointed”

this Hotel in it day must have been beautifull but needs some work the grounds are beautifull and is very quiet and good location the price was a litle for the condition of the buildings

“STAY AWAY”

My family and I were arriving by ferry. We were getting in very late. I called the Mountain Gap Inn and Expedia also called just to make sure that someone would be there when we arrived. We were both told that someone is there 24 hours a day. When we arrived the place was dark. An envelope with my name in it was taped to the door along with several others. In the envelope was a key to my cottage along with a map. We could not find the cottage because all the lights were out. After I made a subsequent call to the Inn I was told all the lights are on a timer and go off at 11 pm. We called the number on the door to the office several times and no one answered. We ended up sleeping in our car. We found our cottage pretty close to morning. There was no air conditioning and we had to put towels on the floor so the kids could walk to the bathroom. The floor was very dirty. The room also had a very strong musty odor. While our car was certainly the cleaner choice, I would have appreciated being in a room. I read the reviews and was not expecting a four star hotel, but I did expect to be able to get into my room.
