The 2 bedroom unit was well laid out. The cleaning staff were excellent. Great Pool and reasonably good gym. About a 20 min walk (5 min drive) to the seaside town of Carvoeiro where a number of good restaurants are located

The breakfast was really good with lots of options such as fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereals and coffee. The gym was good however it only opened at 9am which wasn't convenient if wanting to do exercise in the morning before breakfast as breakfast buffet closed at 10am. We stayed in a suite and it was really spacious with a nice outdoor area.

The room (luxury suite) has a big balcony with a sun bed and umbrella, and table for eating. The living room has a complete kitchen and a sofa, TV area. The bedroom has a wonderful bed, strong Internet, another TV and two lovely bathrooms. The breakfast is amazing, as was the buffet dinner, and the pool really good size with plenty of seating. The only negatives I'd say are Only one free water despite staying four nights An excessively high charge for tea in the room!!!

The staff is nice and polite but did not address all of our complaints, such as the broken shower. The air conditioning was insufficient and there were ants in our unit first floor. The townhouse was clean, spacious, and well-equipped, but the location of the resort is not really conducive to walking into town or to the beach. Overall we give it 2.5- 3 stars. Of all the drawbacks, the ants were the most offensive issue. Otherwise it was a lot of room for the price and would have been very comfortable if the air conditioning worked well.

Ok, but needs some repairs
Nice place, but a bit scruffy and poor quality In areas. Hot water screeching all night kept us all up, kids slide split and dangerous. Pool bridges falling apart. It was good value, but I can now see why it’s cheaper than top resorts.

Nice apartment but dirty and unsupervised pool are
The apartment itself was very nice and comfortable with nice terrace and full kitchen. The real let down was the resort facilities. The pool and steam/sauna area was not clean and overcrowded with 30 unsupervised children running and jumping into the indoor pool and entering steam/sauna rooms. The floors in the indoor pool area were moldy and slippery. The resort even charges guests for clean beach/pool towels if you want them changed. No business center. Definitely not a five star resort. Would not return due to the facilities.

Had a great stay with a beautiful spacious accommodation and large balcony in ‘romantic suite’. Great service, staff were really helpful and provided a lot of information. Breakfast was really good. Gym and additional amenities were not quite on par with rest of the resort but enjoyed our massage at the spa however a little pricey.

The best example I could use of how attentive and caring the staff is, is that a group member of our trip had her birthday on the trip. Without us having to ask, remind or notify the manager send over a beautiful (large) cake with candles and flowers and a complimentary hand written card wishing her the best and lovely birthday. The time we went in was off season - as such there was less to do but nonetheless the peace and quiet served us well on our vacation. Really recommend this stay - but would also suggest traveling by car as the distances can get quite large if you wish t visit other regions of Algarve. The public system is not that accessible or great.

Great houses well equipped and good comfort
We had 3 nice bedrooms and comfortable beds. The kitchen is well equipped. Service marvellous. The SPA did not offer warm shower, but nice swimmingpool with hot sauna and Turkish steam bath. Nice floor heating in the apartment. Excellent place even for a winter stay.

We have stayed at Monte Santo many times sine 2013, but obviously had a long gap over the last 2 years due to the pandemic. Although the resort still remains lovely and overall an attractive place to stay, we have definitlery noticed a gradual decline in maintenence both with the apartments and the grounds. The apartmnets are begining to look tired particularly the kitchens, internal walls need painting, the grass isnt cut regulary anymore and there are weeds in gutters and in pavements, making the place look scruffy compared to how it used to be, rather immnaculate. The complex is in decline and has seen its better years. Maid service is no longer daily. Its still lovely overall and we would go again due to familiarality as we have been over 10 times, but its definitrly no longer 5 star in our opinion, but a solid 4 star.

A good base to explore the Algarve
Resort had only partially re-opened when we arrived, although this was not clear when we booked, Disappointing there was no bar or restaurant open. Accommodation very good, but an upgrade of some of the facilities in the apartment would make it excellent. A car is useful as located out of the town.

Good site for a family stay
We recently stayed at Monte Santo for 10 days during September. The apartment was nicely decorated, spacious and well equipped. Which was perfect for us as we were travelling with two hound children. The Monte Santo grounds and beautiful and the pool is a great spacious area to relax. Service from the bar and restaurant were reasonable. The bar was very expensive, Staff were friendly but service was slow despite there being a limited number of guests during our stay. The food in the restaurant was okay, Not mind blowing and the experience didn’t reflect the price. There are many better restaurants within a 20 minute walk of Monte Santo in Carvoeiro.

Excellent family holiday at exceptional resort.
This resort is beautiful whether for a family or just a couple. Our family of 6 adults and 4 children had 3 x 2 bedroom luxury townhouses and they had everything in them for a relaxing holiday. There was loads of cupboard space and the cleaners came in every day and replaced all the towels and even left a dishwasher tablet. The grounds are immaculate and we all made use of the indoor pool but only the children were brave enough to venture into the outdoor pools which were very cold in February. The resort is ideally placed for visiting all the local beaches and there are many good restaurants. We will certainly hope to return.

The suite was nice, had a washroom and a bathroom so it helped getting ready in the mornings. The porch door would not lock and even after multiple discussions with the front desk, nothing was done about it. Even if the chance of thievery is low, it's a matter of safety and unfortunately, we were disappointed. Nevertheless, the resort was a nice place overall, good breakfast.

Large rooms with plenty of space. Lounge and dining furniture dated. Shower outlet blocked and despite numerous requests to have this rectified the issue remained unresolved. Excellent apartment - spacious with every extra you could need. It is slightly on outskirts of town - easy walk downhill but preferred to get a taxi back up, particularly in evening. Some good restaurants within 10/15 mins walking but you need to seek them out, the same with the small supermarkets. Car is needed to get to two big supermarkets on Lagoa road. Used restaurant once for breakfast and it as very nice but slightly on pricey side.

A lot of thought has gone into this property. Nicely laid out, spacious, kitchen is fully equipped. It would be nice if they put a mirror in at least one of the bedrooms by the dresser so that you can sit down and do your hair/make instead of the bathroom. The house was very good and had top end quality furnishings, ie granite worksufaces and nice furniture, except....for the beds. For a 5* property they really were awful. I didn't get a decent nights sleep. I could feel the springs, the mattresses were well worn and dipped in places. If they can't change them all, then at least put good mattress toppers on to save peoples backs. We paid a lot of money for this holiday and the other downside was the cleaning. For 5* the bedding should have been changed daily. On day 5 I called reception and asked how often the beds should be changed. I was told every day to which I told them I still had the same bed sheets and pillow cases. I asked for the manager to call me and I am still waiting for that call, which is disappointing. They sent a new team in to clean our townhouse and I saw a difference, the new team mopped the floors every day and wiped surfaces and changed the beds. I should have been refunded for the days of non-cleaning and an apology but I didn't even get a call back let alone a discussion. The last thing I wanted was to have arguments on a holiday that we had paid a lot of money on so they can have this review instead.
