Very nice staff. Clean spaces and cool concept

I was very disappointed with my stay at the hotel, and I would not suggest anyone come here unless you're a golf fanatic. It feels way too corporate and a bit like you're in The Shining. First, they put me in a room that felt like a dungeon. I immediately got depressed: a giant heap of sand in front of the window and no natural light. It felt more like a prison than a hotel room. Then they transferred me to a nicer room, which I appreciated, but it did not have the balcony I had booked. Someone also decided to do construction at 1 AM, which lasted until 2:30 AM. When I mentioned this issue at checkout, I was promised a partial refund but never received any credit. Also, when trying to get breakfast in the morning, there were two completely incapable staff members at the front desk. A line was forming, and people eventually just left without even attempting to eat at the restaurant because the hostesses were not able to seat people at the appropriate tables. Terrible training. The food served in their high-end breakfast restaurant was so boring and sad that it felt more like an insult than an enjoyment. The coffee was watery. Whoever is running this restaurant needs to improve this greatly. The one thing I have to say was very good was the service and experience in the bar area. Excellent drinks and excellent fish appetizers. Overall, I would never come back.

You really need to get a car for this location. It’s far away from mostly anywhere and the closest transportation is a 25 min walk. The pool was okay but the whole property is outdated. I was also charged 100 for food service that I never ordered. I also requested a microwave, my room didn’t have it but I was still charged. I reached out to get a refund but I haven’t heard back. This was my 5th time traveling to San Diego and wanted to try a new location. I’ll be sticking to the other hotels.

We love this resort. It’s close to all our favorite haunts and it’s like visiting Hawaii! Hot tub and pool area is beautiful! The grounds are immaculate and so green! It’s a botany lovers paradise with the variety of plants and shrubs. Will gladly stay here again!

Breakfast was very good and coffee was hot. Rooms well maintained. The first building we stayed in did have an odor but the second was very nice.

Perfect location! You can walk to everything! Hotel was very clean, pool area very nice, room was updated and had cute beach theme, bed was comfy! Staff very pleasant. Breakfast was good and included, but there’s also a few great places to go within walking distance. We liked our 1 king bed room with a partial ocean view. We enjoyed our stay, will definitely come back! Note: Parking is a separate nightly fee but the hotel has a convenient gated underground parking garage so you don’t need to drive around to find parking. Yes, there are homeless people throughout parts of the beach area/boardwalk, BUT nobody bothered us. If you’re staying Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights-lots more people hanging in the area because a few clubs/bars around the area. You could not hear the noise from our hotel room (oh to be in our 20’s again-haha).
