Flight was good staff were friendly and overall it is a budget airline and provides budget services. However: this has nothing to do with this specific flight but with our overall experience; I had 2 international and 4 domestic flights with virgin. The most disappointing leg was from Ayers Rock to Sydney on Jan. 24; the flight was cancelled and we were put on Jet star a Uber-budget airline with minimal services: it brings a new meaning to steerage. We arrived at the airport in Ayers Rock the virgin staff sat behind the wicket did not do any announcements, did not update screens and basically go to the jet star counter our flight is cancelled and you are not our problem, the staff at the airport were either overwhelmed or had no idea what they were doing; just vacant and absent on the communication portion. My flight was to Brisbane that day via Sydney so our luggage was checked to sydney ( not to Brisbane) we had collect it and re check it at Sydney to Brisbane plus go through security again. The help desk for virgin and the floor staff seemed disorganized and we barely made our connection to Brisbane. Virgin did a crappy job at managing this mess on that day and after 6 flights with Virgin i was hoping for better service.
