Very central location, very nice people and service at the hotel.
Stephanie at the front desk was outstanding. She helped me with finding medical assistance, recommendations for restaurants and basic room inquiries.
The hotel is an awesome location and the spa amenities were very relaxing with a view of the Matterhorn (breakfast as well). Glad we chose to stay there!
We absolutely love our stay at Metropol Spa Hotel. The views, the swimming pool/spa, the proximity to everything, the services, the room size and the friendliness of the staff, everything was perfect, and we would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is seeking a comfortable time at Zermatt.
Great location, great spa facilities and the staff was wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and would definitely stay here again on a future trip.
Perfectly located in Zermatt’s center, incredible Matterhorn views from Pool, dining room, and garden; friendly staff, clean, incredible desk! Hope to return. Owner very outgoing with guests.
This hotel was in an excellent location!! Very close to the Sunnega lift and the Green line bus that takes you from lift to lift. Breakfast included was convenient. Having the spa after a long day was very needed!
The service was good. The room was clean and the Matterhorn view was excellent. The hotel also offered us the shuttle between the train station. Overall quality was good.

The room was clean, spacious and our view of the Matterhorn was like out of a storybook. Absolutely loved the pool and hot tub, which we used every day!
We spent 3 nights here in October and really enjoyed our stay. The room was very comfortable and spacious, the breakfast was great with an excellent variety of hot and cold food, and the hotel was in a good location within walking distance to everything. But most importantly, the staff were fantastic! You felt as though you were staying with family. Would highly recommend and definately stay here again!
We loved this hotel. The staff were very friendly and remembered who you were. The facilities were excellent and we used the pool and spa every day. The views were simply stunning from our balcony and from the pool area. Breakfast was very good, plenty of options, including some freshly cooked to order options. We were even gifted some local cheese when we left. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and recommend it to anyone looking for a lovely hotel in Zermatt.
Recommend this older style Hotel. It appears to be family owned and run.. The staff were always helpful. Free transfers from train station. Excellent indoor pool, hot tub, sauna.. Very close to train and restaurants.. Views of the Matterhorn..
Staff were very warm and friendly, even gave me some cheese to take with me when I left!
Generous breakfast.
Best of all - an empty pool with a view of the Matterhorn, jacuzzi, steam room, and sauna - all impeccably clean.
Room very reasonably priced for a single traveller- first time I have had a single trundle bed so as not to waste room size-very practical. Everything I needed.
Very satisfied with my 3 night stay at the Metropol in late September. I had a single room which was a good size and had nicely renovated bathroom and a view of the river (and the Matterhorn, if I popped my head out and looked to the right). Room was very functional (including mini espresso machine) and kept very clean by housekeeping. Great location - I easily walked everywhere I wanted to go. Fantastic breakfast. Staff was pleasant and helpful. SPA and pool area was icing on the cake. Will definately stay here again.
I rarely take the time to write reviews, but I’d be remiss to not comment on my stay. Is it the most modern hotel? No. It is modest and a bit outdated but it is very clean and the staff is exceptionally friendly. We spent most of our time hiking, shopping, and dining, so for the purposes of having a clean, safe place to lay your head, it was perfect. Reasonably priced for the area. Walkable to everywhere. Rush of the river lulls you to sleep each nite. My only complaint is that the room got quite warm at times (I was there in July - no AC). Keeping the windows open at night worked fine, but if you had a light on, expect a few moths to find their way in. I would absolutely stay here again.
Super convenient location! Only a couple of minute walk from the train station and everything in town! It's an amazing town! It was cloudy/snowy during our stay, but for the 10 minutes the Matterhorn tried poking through the clouds, our view from our room was amazing! (Even without seeing the Matterhorn, it's a great view!)
They have a free shuttle, which we used upon arrival, however, it doesn't run until 8am, so we had to walk to the train station (in the snow) when we left :/ The sauna didn't open until 3pm, which was a bummer for us, since we wanted to do that on our cloudy day, but that certainly didn't ruin our incredible time!
Front desk staff were incredibly friendly and helpful! Even loanded us outlet adapters so we could charge our phones!
Oh, and the heated bathroom floors!!
