"This property is one of the best VRBOs we have experienced. The location is perfect if you're looking for a private, quiet setting only steps from the beach. Located on Po'olenalena Beach, it's as if only the residents of Makena Surf use this section of the beach despite being public. It's like having your own private beach on Maui. Even better, many of the snorkeling tour operators pull their boats right up to the lava rocks along the south shore of the beach, so you can snorkel right off the beach and see tons of sea turtles without having to pay extra for a tour. The lanai with the sliding doors that open from the living room makes the unit so enjoyable. With a gas grill on the patio, we enjoyed nearly every meal sitting on the lanai overlooking the beach. The owners of this unit have everything covered. Really, everything and every little detail. Every tool and utensil you'll need in the kitchen, to everything you'll need for a day at the beach.The owners were very responsive and helpful. They answered every question quickly and ensured our stay was comfortable. We will definitely rebook again for future stays. "

"This was our second time at this spot and we absolutely love it and will be back again. We stayed in other condos on Maui and this one is by far the best. I was in awe every time we walked through the front door. Breakfast and drinks on the Lanai while playing Crib, yahtzee and reading books were the favourite part of our vacation. Plus can never get enough swimming with turtles right in front of us and walking the pristine beach. Plus the pool and hot tub that are never busy. We walked one morning along the trail in from of The Four Seasons, Grand Wailea and the Fairmont and wondered why anyone would stay there where the beaches are busy and you are packed around the pool like sardines fighting for spot. The Makena Surf is a hidden amazing gem. Thank you so much! "

"This was a fantastic property that was quiet and not crowded. The beach was beautiful and never crowded. Very nice and secluded. The “touristy” area is just a 5 min drive away (you do need a car to get to any restaurants or shops). "

"We had an amazing stay. The condo is just as advertised, with an amazing view and a wonderful kitchen. We love the Makena area and Makena Surf. You are far enough away from the busy hotels to be able to feel secluded, but you are close enough to enjoy a great meal or visit to the bar at one of them."

"Makena Surf is a great place to stay, just a mile or so away from the major tourist areas. F-204 is fantastic (especially the panoramic view of the ocean), the beach is wonderful and never crowded, the pool is incredible, and we had everything we could need during our stay. If you want to be close to the tourist areas but not in the heart of it, this is the place. Maria is fantastic to work with! Hope to return!"

"Everything was as I had expected. Beautiful ocean views. The rooms were beautiful and big. The pictures were right on spot. We did not need any cooking equipment. They had everything you could possibly need. The outside was absolutely beautiful. Only a minute walk to beach or swimming pool. I did my first ever snorkeling. It didn’t cost a thing. They have beach chairs umbrellas ice chest. What ever you need to be comfortable for the beach including towels. "

"Beautifully decorated! Kitchen was fully stocked, we had everything we needed. Great communication with the owner. The views of the ocean from the lanai are gorgeous, and sitting outside on the lanai was lovely. Beds were comfortable, showers were huge! Wonderful condo!! "
