This means a new fridge and also construction materials around the property (no fenced in yard for pets, plus empty bottles/gum wads, etc around construction area). "We loved our stay in Lake Placid to see the Total Solar Eclipse! We had been looking forward to the trip for a year, and were very happy with this home - it was very comfortable for our family that included an infant and a toddler, as well as 8 adults. There was plenty of room for us to all have the space we needed. We especially loved the wood stove in the living room, and the backyard was great to play in the snow. "We had a lovely time in this chalet in the woods. Everything was as described. Neighborhood was QUIET which is exactly what we were looking for. Close and easy drive to lake Placid for supplies. We thoroughly enjoyed the deck and the screened in porch was a very nice bonus. The cooking pots and pans could use updating - all are quite scratched up. Water pressure was good in shower. Communication with the host was terrific. Main bedroom is downstairs and as long as anyone staying upstairs is ok...

"A small group of friends, myself, and my two dogs stayed here to watch the solar eclipse. The spacious backyard was the perfect place for eclipse viewing and the small town was close enough to Lake Placid for a morning shopping trip but far enough away to avoid the traffic. The house itself has GORGEOUS views, a relaxing hot tub (perfect for after a long hike), and a fully equipped kitchen. Overall it was the perfect home away from home to spend a long weekend."

"It was cold during our stay and being right on top of the water there was a very large temperature gradient from the floor to ceiling. We had an infant sleeping in a pack n play on the floor and so it was necessary to blow a fan and move the air. The temp at the floor on our baby monitor was reading 61 while the heat in the room was set to 77. So be aware if you have an infant. Additionally the floor was bowing and popping up in many places. Likely due to extreme temperature swings or humidity....
